Will we see ‘Eight Days’ and ‘The Getaway’ this year?

Sony already has an outstanding first party line up for 2009, with Killzone 2 already in stores, games such as Infamous, Heavy Rain, God Of War 3, Uncharted 2 and Gran Turismo are still to come.

But it doesn’t stop there, as Sony have recently hinted that they have a number of surprises still up their sleeve for 2009. Scott Rhodes spoke in a recent interview saying “There are several titles that are in the works that we have yet to announce, It’s one of those things where we’re seeing the fruits of all those initial investments. They’re all just starting to hit and stack up for 2009.”

In my very own opinion, I feel that Eight days and The Getaway are back in development. If you recall, Sony put these titles to the side to focus all their attention on Killzone 2. Now that Killzone 2 is out the way I have the feeling that Sony are ready to pick up where they left off with these two titles as there was much fan interest in them when they announced they had scrapped both games. Also a lot of ‘Eight Days’ tech footage seemed to have leaked online lately, why now?

One thing is for certain though, E3 will defiantly have many surprises this year. Stay tuned because you know we’ll keep you posted.

sorry if already posted, but if eight days and the getaway become back in production that would be fantastic news as eight days looked superb. i can recall sony claiming lack of online influenced the decision to stop eight days, mabey they could start work on it again.

IF this is true I will jizz in my pants. To this day I don't understand why they would stop development on Getaway.

I think we will see them again soon. If I remember correctly, Sony cancelled them to put more focus on Home.

Those games are dead and they won't be coming back anytime soon. But look on the brightside we get ..... Eyepet instead ;_;

So there is no reason to bring these games back out aside from someone's hope?

Please come with some concrete evidence, or at least a leak, not some fanboy wish list. I want them to come back too, but I sure wouldn't make an article about what I wish was coming back.

Nope, you're all wrong, Sony cancelled them for EyePet because those 3 games are developped by London Studios.

i dont know about Eight Days but im sure they're going to make The Getaway one way or another, that game is very big in the UK.

I hope they were put back in production
as of now, SCE Liverpool and SCE Cambridge studios have been quiet about what they're are working on hopefully its Eight Days and Getaway

Um, sony cancelled both those games so I'd be surprised if they came out....
