Videogames are like drinks, there are some you can take great pleasure in drinking fast, and others that, if you drink fast, you completely miss over the parts that make them great. Majora's Mask would definitely fit in the later category. I've heard of people who dislike the game because they went through it fast, finished the game, and put it down. In order to get the most of it, you need to spend time just enjoying yourself, exploring, trying to figure out things, and try to uncover all of the crazy undertones in the story.
Reading up on the story and theories online is also great fun. I'd recommend everyone to do that! There are so many details and intricacies in the story that even the most scrutinizing player can miss.

Yes, play it now!
OT: I haven't played this game in a while, in fact, I don't think I even beat it. I really want it to come in VC soon, can't wait to play it. ^_^ |
Still haven't played it, I'm having too much fun with super smash bros brawl =P
Majora's Mask will be a full decade old next year and it's still highly anticipated.
Kirby's Air Ride was terrible.

I haven't gotten very far at all into it and I agree! You really have to take the time to get to know the world of Termina to get the most out of the game.. It tells a story with so much depth.. I actually can't believe how well put together this game is!
It's been years since I read the article, but I managed to find it fairly easily on Google. I was pretty elated when it popped up so fast. If you guys are interested, here it is:

It's a very long read, but I'll be damned if it doesn't hold the reader's attention better than almost anything else. :P
There are more write-ups like this one in the third (bottom) section of this page:

There are also other things that make the game even more amazing, mainly the characters. The "sad tree" you find in the beginning, the Deku Butler mistaking you for his son, the second to last scene in the ending showing the sad tree again. Even Link can't save everyone. Is the Sad Tree the dead Deku, or was the Deku's soul torn out of him? The tree shows emotion and doesn't seem to be dead, so I think the Deku's soul (or what have you) was merely ripped out of him, and he was warped into a tree by Majora's Mask.
I love how the Skull Kid is seen as the villian, but really he's just a very lonely and sad person who's lost his friends, and he is being posessed by a freakin mask.
There are just way too many things to talk about and list here, but I don't want to go on and on. This game just has so much to it. It's also the only game I've ever broken down into tears, even after multiple playthroughs no less. The scene with the Zombie dad and his daughter, and the Song of Healing that goes along with it (along with the other similar scenes) are just too much. That Song of Healing has got to be one of the most emotional tunes I've ever, ever heard.
