Well Inifinty Ward will never make a COD game on the wii ever they said it before much like epic games, wont make a game for wii.

IW will do whatever Activision tells them to do.

Activision need IW more than IW needs Activision, seriously doubt Activision would piss off IW for an extra million or 2 sales.

Activision = Call of Duty IP, World of Warcraft IP, Guitar Hero IP and more.

IW = No owned IPs.

When there is a high possibility of selling more than 1 million more copies of your game, it will be made.

There is no sensible person who can say, "A million copies isn't worth it".

Shenmue.

GTA IV.

Resident Evil 0.

Final Fantasy VII/VIII/IX/X/XII.

Probably a crapload more.

You kind of took it out of my context here. When you have a choice of not making the game, or creating one with guaranteed profit.......

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

So what ?

Call of Duty franchise will go down after a while if IW leaves and the next IW game (whatever they call it) will be critically acclaimed and successful like CoD4 was in 2007.

Despite a potential drop in CoD quality, how exactly does that mean Activision needs IW more than IW needs activision?

Isn't CoD:WaW on a higher sales curve than CoD:MW?

Besides, Activision owns IW so it's not like IW can pack up and leave.

You neglected to cite the elephant in the room, i.e. Harmonix -> Neversoft. Same situation. Same publisher to boot.

No only the launch was, but now the 360 version is already below CoD4 and the PS3 version will follow in the next ~2 months.

Of course Activision owns IW, but that doesn't mean they can treat them like dirt. Every publisher should have respect for their developement teams and even more when they make such fantastic and successful games.

I'm willing to bet that if COD:MWF2 in Wii includes all the modes people would expect it would easily sell much more than a million.  You also have to consider the fact that the COD brand is something that wasn't associated very strongly with Wii becasue of COD:4's ommision.  Also no one pointed out the fact that COD:3 sold more on Wii than on PS3, thats right everyone check it out for yourselves.

But even if MWF2 sells at the same rate as WaW on Wii how would that be a failure?  Activision and IW would still make a nice profit, but more importantly making it would raise the awareness that FPS games do exist on Wii and in turn that would open the market wide open for FPS games on Wii.  If The Conduit is top notch and will help the future of FPS games on Wii, but the more quality FPS game the better.

This is only true if you ignore Wii sales...

A lot of companies talked crap on the Wii right out of the gate, prime example was id software, and guess what - id software is making a Wii game now, or are at least interested. Activision will put something on the Wii, I just hope Beenox doesn't do it like Quantum of Solace. While I liked QoS, WAW blew it away by 300 million%
