Ignore the figures, and look at the games. You might decide that you think RFOM and MLB 08 look awful, or that you'll have no interest in Dead Rising or CoD2.
EDIT: Wait a minute. Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine aren't 360 exclusive! KoTN comes on the PS3 Oblivion disc, and Shivering Isles both comes with the GoTY edition and can be bought separately on PSN or on disc.
Also italicised downloadable titles, on both systems. That doesn't mean they're bad (Braid got several GoTY nominations), just bear in mind that they are shorter (and cheaper) than retail titles.

Of course someone would use a topic not even about the Wii to bash it... quite sad. I respectfully disagree with you.
As for on topic, as an owner of all 3 consoles, I'd say buy the 360, but that's only because I like the games on it more and it has the better online imo (although you have to pay for it unfortunately :/).

ofcourse. cause coming into the thread, derailing it and joining this fanboy flame war would have been much better than a straight answer to the OP? Then I guess I'll contribute more. OP - PS3. Why? Two reasons: Better hardware: Blu Ray alone justifies its extra price for me. The consoles comes with built in wireless. You will not get a RROD. The failure rate on the PS3 is nowhere near that of 360 as far as I understand. You get the option of upgrading yourself to 1080p with 7.1 surround sound. It comes with all the wireless media capabilities that 360 comes with (and more?). PlayStation Network is FUCKING FREE! Better Software: The gaming library of the PS3 pretty much speaks for itself at this point. You can probably tell that by the fact that even 360 fanboys don't just disregard thh software line-up anymore. MGS4 is the best game I've ever played. Games like Killzone 2, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo 5, God of War 3, Warhawk, R&C, Resistance are experiences that you will never get on 360. There are as many amazing multiplats like RE5, Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Lost Planet, GTAIV and Fallout 3 to keep you constantly coming back. Trust me, you will laugh when you are playing RE5, Lost Planet and GTAIV online knowing there are other people who pay a monthly fee to get that experience. any input rocketpig? |
Okay, I mentioned the hardware in my first post and that Blu-Ray is a nice addition. So is Netflix on the Box. RRoD is a tired argument. Stop using it. Modern failure rates are pretty low on the Xbox.
And software? Yes, the PS3 has great software. The key is that the Xbox has more great software. It depends on your preference. Do you really want to play Uncharted or KZ? Then buy a PS3. Do you really want to play H3 or Gears 2 with your friends? Then buy an Xbox. No one is going to be able to play all the great games for these systems. Go with what pleases you most.
As I said, you didn't even bother saying anything past "PS3" in your original post, which is why I called you out. I don't know what the OP likes so I pointed out a few supplemental features of each system. I figured he could choose what games he likes best. I can't do that for him.
So there's my "input".

ok thanks for the advice. You seem to prefer the 360 and you own all system... ok ! |
I'll second lewis on this one, personally. Then again, I gave my PS3 to a friend after helping me out with some stuff and my Wii is loaned to a girl because I never used it (oh, sweet pun...).
With that said, I will be buying another PS3 within the year. It's a damned fine system and since I no longer care about BC (played as much of the PS2 as I care to do), buying a new one is not a big deal once the price drops.
Both are fine systems. Weigh which exclusives draw you in the most and which features (Blu-Ray, wi-fi, Netflix, etc) matter the most to your personal tastes.
