The cheapest Core i7 is 300 dollars. You can't beat what you get with a PS3 for the price.

Then the spell is broken and all copies of MAG turn into pumpkins old tech DVDs incapable of storing any respectable game.
The reason that it is a PS3 exclusive is because Sony own Zipper Interactive

This is the question I was about to ask; However, I couldn't care less about M.A.G..... it's another generic shooter.
@ stage, you can't dismiss it as a generic shooter when we have seen nothing of it
I don't think the PC platform is lacking in memory, processing power when compared to the PS3.
Tease.
no the reason its not possible on Xbox and PC is that has a zipper on it.

Even with one SPE disabled and other used to OS the Cell still has eight threads, since the PPE has two threads. I think you've counted it as just one thread.
Plus you can't beat the 8 FLOPS/clock cycle Altivec matrix with any x86, x64 SIMD processor. When it comes down to 'crunching' numbers the Cell is about four times as faster as the top Core i7. The X360 Xenos processor also uses Altivec and it's about 50% faster (FLOPS wise) than the i7 965.
Of course there's still many factors into play, like branch prediction and in-order operations (both the Cell and the Xenos would 'die' running an OS like Windows), and more importantly cache size and transistor count, but still the thread starter has a point when he mentions the Cell as an advantage on this specific issue.
It´s not about processor power.. it´s about cheating.
