Rapture did have a consistent visual style, yes, but that style was borne out of decay, not aesthetic beauty, and the Medical Plaza and Neptune's Bounty embodied this. Hephaestus was even worse. The game was not "beautiful" in the sense that Prince of Persia is beautiful, nor was it beautiful in the sense that you appear to be referring to Tales as beautiful.
Seriously though, seriously now, seriously speaking:
How can you honestly put Vesperia on here? Hell, Blue Dragon's visual style is more distinctive and impressing than Vesperia's!
Banjo looks pretty good, deserved a spot on this.
Fable dosent look anything near as good as them screens.
Star Ocean 4 (from what ive seen) would make my list.
Not Gears 1, but Gears 2 should be on the list.
Good list otherwise
And id also like to add, Bioshock dosent have the best water effects... that goes to Uncharted.

I have Fable 2 and I like the game but those shots of Fable are misleading. It's a good looking game but it hovers 'near' the 30fps mark which in a way ruined the immersion a bit. It's has a good 'British' artistic design but I doubt it's really pushing the 360 technically. The animation is nothing great and games characters don't seem that detailed.
I hope Forza 3 and Alan Wake come out this year....cause I have no doubt those two games will easily make the list....

Of course not; beauty in one game's stylings can often not be comparable to that of another's. Comparing PoP and Vespy wouldn't be possible if I was referring to beauty in a single sense. Rapture's decay and waste hid what before was spectacular works or what would have been the time period of Art-Deco. Of course Rapture itself was dying, but its city and its peoples were dying, but not the style. The recreation of such an art style that in truth didn't last so very long, seems covered by the death and blood and whatnot that happened in Rapture. But to say its aesthetic beauty was OF decay, is wrong.
Its beauty is found beyond its decay, within its works and statues, and its walls(barring the blood splattered ones :P) everything past what you see as destruction lies the real art of Rapture.
Didn't we already discuss this? I'm biased. I love cell shading. And no, Blue Dragon was NOT more distinctive, and not nearly more impressive then Vespy's.

I thought about puttin Star Ocean on there, but as much as I love the game, its not really all too beautiful to me :/
I;ve discussed Gear.
Banjo came close.
Fable2, you don't think it did? the enchanted me personally, I'd say those pics don't do it ENOUGH justice.

If that's the case then you have no justification for not putting Gears or Gears 2 on here.
I understand enjoying cele-shading. Some really beautiful games are cel-shaded. Wind Waker, Viewtiful Joe, Prince of Persia, Jet Set Radio. These are all beautiful games because of their distinctive styles and their unique art directions.
Vesperia is neither distinctive nor unique.
can someone do a ps3 version? But make it exclusive please, i hate sharing.
my list:
1.Gears of War 2
2. Mass Effect
3. Star Ocean 4
4. BANJO
5. Lost Odyssey

While Rapture's beauty was hidden by waste, Toriyama was able to inject beauty into waste itself. If you don't find his renderings of poo in Blue Dragon to be breathtaking, you are in no position to speak of aesthetic beauty, sir.
