That just means they will add less doors.

Dang, you really are the most pessimistic person I've ever seen. You insist on things being bad without knowing anything.

So no boss battles then?

Around the Network

no combat is a bit of a drag, but if implemented the only option being to run could work out well, clock tower did a decent job with it plus the whole way the describe it sounds interesting
I do hope they still implement bosses in some manner, puzzle driven boss would be great and an improvement from silent hills old shoot it until it dies bosses
in general I like the conversation effecting story and what not

I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!

NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's so bad about no combat? If they do it anything like Penumbra, it'll be great.

AY: We're making Silent Hill 5 for next-gen consoles. Are there any other platforms besides that? [laughter]

WN: There's the Wii.

AY: Ah, the Wii. Wiiiiiiiiii... Silent Hill Wii. Can we do it? Will players like it?

WN: Yeah! There's a lot of potential there, using the remote as a flashlight, or a knife...

AY: Yeah, there's potential.

WN: But no plans.

AY: No plans. The Wii user isn't a hardcore user.

Poor guys, they were so confident about Hommecoming

.... I was about to make a snarky comment, but this guy is just one of the many developers who laughed the Wii off in the beginning who then started taking the console seriously once they realized they were wrong about their assumptions.

It's like when the Earth gets destroyed in Dragonball Z. After the 7th time it happens, everyone just gets used to it happening and it's no longer a big deal.

Lack of combat sounds lame. Especially when Homecoming had a good combat system.

If all you do is run/avoid fighting where is the challenge? Ammo conservation is a big part of survival horror, if you aren't good at it then the game becomes much harder.

Big element of the game missing.

You're quite a complex person, aren't you?

Finally a game that promises to bring the survival back in survival horror, but yet you have something to complain, lol! Ammo conversation is a great aspect, but that's mainly because it adds to the fear of encountering something. Without any guns the fear is the same, but you're even more helpless. Still I think some sort of battle system will be in the game.

Anyway, I stand on my opinion that this might very well become Silent Hill's REmake. And we both know the quality of that game.

Homecoming was great, not like survival horror is completely dead, yet.

I doubt it will be Silent Hill's 'REmake' personally, REmake built on and improved everything of the original, this seems to be taking a side-step and going a different route, removing things.

I think combat is too important to remove and keep the feel of the original, personally.

I agree with your opinion. Theres nothing wrong with being a realist.
