I believe #10 is just BS. Nobody enters an industry out of revenge.
I think they entered for the same reason they partnered with Nintendo to begin with. They wanted to make money off of the licensing.

#2 is nice to know
"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)
"WAR is a racket. It always has been.
It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
I only knew 2/10.
Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

"It's almost surprising that Nintendo, which has zero qualms about pulling products, didn't just yank the GameCube since it understood it would be third place."
The Wii didn't come around overnight. They needed something to sell in between. Duh.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
@Liquidninja: It wasn't out of revenge. If you'd have the tech in your hands, into which you invested tens (hundreds?) of millions and your customer would say "fuck it", what would you do? Leave it there and mark up the losses or tried to make your investment to make money? Sony did the latter.
There was also Play Station (counting in PSP, PS3 actually is fifth Playstation), that could play SNES games and games for the new CD format, that was released by Sony. Nintendo tried to pull it out from the market with court order, but Sony won the case (due to Sony and Nintendo having a contract) and Sony pulled the Play Station out from the market, after Nintendo threatened Sony that it wouldn't buy sound processors for SNES from Sony anymore.
@Perpride: Nobody believed Nintendo even back then. Everybody thought Nintendo was just making PR twists, but in retrospect, what Yamauchi and Iwata talked about suddenly makes sense. This doesn't mean that Nintendo hadn't aimed maximising GC sales, but they weren't competing for the market share.
Ei Kiinasti.
Eikä Japanisti.
Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.
Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
I didn't know 7 & 8, but I don't know why people should know #7.

I knew all but #7 and #6.
