Forums - Sony - The Orange Box delayed on PS3

So far it's only for a few weeks so hopefully it won't slide even more.

"REDWOOD CITY, Calif--At Electronic Arts' 2006 Summer Showcase, the publisher surprised the game industry by announcing it was distributing The Orange Box from Valve Software. The compilation contains five games--Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 and Portal--and was slated for a fall 2006 release for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Unsurprisingly, given Valve's habit of missing deadlines, The Orange Box was delayed--first to summer 2007, then to a simultaneous October 9 release on all platforms. Now, one version of the game has been delayed again. Speaking with GameSpot at this year's EA Studio Showcase, Valve director of marketing Doug Lombardi confirmed that the PS3 version of The Orange Box "will trail the PC and Xbox 360 versions by a couple of weeks."

Lombardi did not identify a particular reason for the delay of the PS3 Orange Box, which is being ported by EA. He also did not give a specific release date for the game, although online retailers such as GameStop are now listing it as shipping on November 13.

The Orange Box is the latest multiplatform EA game which will be released on the Xbox 360 several weeks before the PS3, along with Medal of Honor: Airborne and SKATE."

Gotta get those SPUs up and running. EA teh sux0rs!

Good thing Valve will get it on time released on Steam. Honestly...these games are meant for PCs anyway...

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

TF2 looks like fun..

and yes PC Fps games > Console Fps games

Maybe not always. But Half Life 2 was born and raised for PC, like it or not. Besides, it's wonderfully optimized for PCs...you don't even need a good PC to run these games.

Valve is one of the best developers for scaling their games to work on crappy and gamer PCs.

Thats to bad for PS3 owners.... where are they ???

Yeah Half Life is PC Land, but I think the same about Unreal, lots of stuff changeing this generation. Will this be priced higher because you get so many games in one ??? Like action 52 ???

ive seen it at 52.99 for preorder through amazon, and 59.99 everywhere else. its kinda nice i feel like ill get my monies worth and not be ripped 10 bucks.

Well if it's $60 for consoles, then it will be $50 for PC.
