Forums - Sales - Super Mario Galaxy week one sales in Japan (it launches Nov 1, 2007)

Whatever they ship, they'll sell like 10-20k less, due to most of the shops selling out. So, if the pre-order is 700k, the sales will be like 685k with reports of sellouts everywhere.

why do people still doubt this game?! guys chill out, this game is what u got ur wii for....

as for sales i'll predict 1 million or there abouts first week in japan...after that who knows...sky is the limit..or should i say the galaxy ;)

I'd say Galaxy sells about 450k for it's first week and sells strong for the entire year.

@ Dolla Dolla, you forgetting that Nintendo will ship much more than the preordered numbers. A preorder is like a reservation, it's a guaranteed sale! Not everybody that wants to buy SMG will preorder it. Look at Halo3, preorders where around 1million if I'm not mistaken. First day sales was a lot more!

Edit: OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say 631,267.
I'll say 898,540 for NA.

I think that NA will do better than JP mainly because of the larger fanbase...

Also, where its true that sunshine sold 339,000 in the first week, it's also true that it only sold 870,000 lifetime there. Compared to the 3.73 million copies in NA...

595k first week with big legs and falls off after holiday season.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

saying it will have big legs, and then fall off after the holiday season is kind of contradicting...

and I thnk it will hang around for a while just like New Super Mario Bros. and Nintendogs does. I know it doesn't have as big of a market as the DS, but it will be one of the first games people get for awhile...
