I hate things too!! Can I join in the hatefest?
Oh wait. I thought the thread was about RE5 on Wii. Co-op is too HD. There are other elements of RE5 that are not possible on Wii.........ummmm.......errr......multipass shaders? Per pixel lighting?
RE5 is SOOOOOOOOO different from RE4.

Want to see the difference HD makes, its very easy.
1) go rent Dead Rising on the 360, its a great game, you'll have fun
2) Go rent Dead Rising on the Wii, notice how there are half the zombies? Notice how awful the graphcis and AI are? Notice how its not really that fun anymore?
3) take this example and apply it to RE5, the results of a port would almost certainly be very similar (if not more pronounced given that RE5 is a much more technologically complex game then Dead Rising).

That is so not true, a ton of HD games have both and the vast majority of Wii games have neither. You can name 10 good Wii games sure (pretty much all made by Nintendo with 3 or 4 exceptions) but there are dozens of exceptional HD games this gen with both beauty and brains. This idea that the Wii has a monopoly on good gameplay is just assenine, so many games on the Wii are shovelware that you need industrial equipment to dig through to anything good. |
Amen. That is the most common fallacy this gen, and it just keeps getting perpetuated because Wii owners are the majority around here.

noname demands to know why the f*** Fatal Frame/Band Bros DX/Captain Rainbow/Trace Memory Wii/Soma Bringer/a crapload more isn't coming to America, especially when half of those already have English translations.
It's a great question, Reggie, but put your own house in order before you start calling out others.

The Wii has a handful of good games like Madworld, and that handful are shot down leaving only low budget crap to be made. It isn't entirely Nintendo's fault, but in choosing not to go to the low end of HD (and thus get easy ports of quality games on the other 2 consoles) and marketing solely to casuals they kind of brought this on themselves. Ever see a Sony E3 where they spend 10 minutes talking about how housewives can use their product to get recipes and how they advertise on daytime talk shows for old women who sit at home? I think not. |
PS2 gamers liked gaming for gaming sake? Are you kidding? More people would of bought a dreamcast if that was true.
No third partys brought this apon themselves. When you refuse to work on the system with the majority of market share and also the cheapest to develop for at the same, its not a smart business practice. Seeing how Nintendo cleans house in sales and profit would of being the first big sign of that.
Also you can make the best game in the world, yet not advertise it can really hurt any potential to sell on any system.
Lastly, welcome to 2005, Nintendo have being advertising to get people who aren't basement dwellers to start gaming. Its called expanding your business and guess what, it makes them millions of dollars and many jugs of bitter tears.

All I see is.
Want to see a bad port?
Hire a smaller team of developers, give them literally no budget or time and tell them to crank out the game as quick as possible.
Oh and its clearly the Wii's fault why this happen. Not the third party rushing it out the door.
It's a tough cycle.
Blockbuster 3rd party titles don't sell on Wii because NO blockbuster 3rd party titles are on Wii.
That means multiple things.
If you take it literally, it's obvious.
If you take "no" to mean "very few", then you'll realize "core" game buyers will not recognize Wii as a system for that.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Was he with the company before the Wii? Considering NoA's power in relation to NoJ if he wasn't cocky he'd never be in the news. I'm convinced everyone in NoA spend most of their workday playing minsesweeper. |
Well, he started at Nintendo in 2003.
He became the head honcho of NoA in May of 2006.
When Reggie demands something you better listen Capcom!

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

It is SOOOO unfair Reggie. After all, I have evidence that the NES got Grand Theft Auto!
It is bad, because the Intellivision apparently got the more risque version:

And THAT is GTA4!
