It could also take marketshare from the 360 Arcade.
Not really any way to deny either of those statements, folks. He's just stating the obvious. You can dismiss it as a pretty minor factor, but.. not everyone will agree with you on that point.
Personally, if I had to make a choice between a PS2 and a Wii right now (luckily I don't have to choose)... PS2 is the clear winner. Like it or not, a lot of people (not a majority, I don't think) would agree -- although you can argue that the casual masses (i.e. the Wii's primary demographics) would be much less likely to agree, because they don't care about all the cool RPGs the PS2 has, like I, and my RPG-adoring "core" gaming ilk do.
The real issue is that, at this stage in the PS2's life, most "core" gamers already have one. Although the DVD playback is still a big deal, if you're trying to buy a console for the kids' room, and frankly, so are the wired, battery-free controllers.
