Wikipedia claims FF versus is using crystal tools (white engine), same as FFXIII.

It ought to stay exclusive unless it comes years after XIII. That's simply because they would have announced a 360 version at the same time as they did with XIII if they were going to release it close to XIII (close being about a year). Also, Nomura doesn't seem to want a 360 version and I'm guessing even XIII wasn't a good thing. I think I even read somewhere that the whole team didn't like the thing?

In any case, by the time of Versus's felease, there will be more than enough PS3 owners to buy the game. I'm also guessing it's the PS3 (of the HD consoles of course) that has the most JRPG fans despite the 360 getting the most JRPGs.

Of course Square Enix's actions have become quite unpredictable... They are a multiplatform developer that wants to expand to the western market, yet so far they've released all of their JRPGs (or almost all, not sure) exclusively on the 360 with the PS3 getting practically nothing. At the same time they're developing FF Versus XIII exclusively on the PS3. And then they've been milking VII as effectively as they can (though I suppose it might be better to release higher quality for once).

I think it will be multi-platform to maximize profit margins.

Nomura works for S-E he does what S-E tells him and has as much freedom as S-E gives and S-E is a money fan not a console fan.

Plus Nomura has worked on so many different consoles how is he a fan of one company?  Do you know him in real life and told you what company he likes?

Sure they would, if they thought it would make them money. You're making an assumption that video game companies have some sense of "loyalty" that other corporations do not. This is a dangerous illusion, especially concerning Square-Enix, who are even more mercenary than most of the other third parties. They will go wherever they believe the money goes.

So wait, your reasoning as to why Versus XIII will stay PS3-exclusive is that you trust Square-Enix?

This guy is "Kojima" of S.E and i don't think they want to make him angry and leave.

Almost all of his best work were on Sony systems, and he always say he is exited to work on the PS3

not to metion his next project is an RPG excluise for the PS3
