just so you know guys, when it comes to laptops being sold its a 50/50 split between ms and apple.

ms only dominate marketshare when it comes to home desktops.

Actually if you did the math that would make no sense. 29% of computers sold today are laptops, and if mac owned 50 percent of that share, they would have a 14.5% AT LEAST market share.

Actually, macs share in laptops is 5%, "netbook" linux base are 3%(or linux based laptops), much higher then desktop market share for linux, and rest is basically microsoft.

uh thats exactly what mac's market share is

granted that stat was a year ago, which i only imagine mac has taken more market share away from ms.

Oh, in one area. World wide it's market share actually went down, from 9% to around 8.38% in the last year. US =/= world or market share.

XP > Vista
MAC > Microsoft

All my Bro did was dual booted his MAC with XP, and now I want one for myself! :O

Well we're not talking about total marketshare now are we..

Just because you can kick my ass in 9 games out of 10, i still won that 1 game. And thats what Apple did. They made iMac and the Apple lable a household name outside the industry. And the marketing strategy, including the MAC vs PC videos, made Apple come out on top. I.E..MS lost.

LOL. I'm sure M$ and Apple both see it that Apple won to. :)

Seriously Apple pale in sales to Windows. LOL

I personally will never buy a Mac because I love to mod PCs. Also I like Windows to much and everyone I know has Windows which makes everything so much easier.

From an advertising point of view the ad is very, very good. My only caveat is that MS is the dominant corporation and talking about competition when you are top dog ain't usually a good thing to do.

Now, personally... the laptop she ended up "picking" (obviously the whole thing is scripted and she's an actress/model) has been identified and it is a POS: low rez screen with poor IQ and viewing angles, AMD processor, slow RAM, integrated graphics and shared video/system memory; in a nutshell a piece of shit.

The ad is teaching consumers to go for the big numbers (gigs of ram, gigs of HDD, screen inches) while ignoring critical elements to properly gauge a computer's performance.

Anyways it'll be interesting to see what apple's ad agency concocts to fight it back. Marketing wars are always funny to watch =)

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

I think this proves one thing.
All creative people love Macs.
Advertising companies are creative
Therefore, the people that MS hired to do their commercials are trying to sabotage MS by producing subpar adverts.

It wasn't witty, and it was completely obvious when they cherry pick and draw incorrect conclusions.

I'm with MS on this one. Mac's are waaay to fucking expensive. Ain't no OS worth $1500.

I always find it funny, if the evil giant corporation strikes back it is considered evil and in bad taste, but if the annoying good corporation strikes first, it is good marketing...Also I am not talking about the comments in this thread....
