Forums - Sales - Justify your console purchase to a starving person

I bought my consoles instead of eating why can't you?

Thats funny my friends dad did that for his kids.  They got a console, but didn't get food for a day.

@ Communisthamster. I don't see how that is relevant.

1) The use of the word 'your' in the heading made me assume for some silly reason that I was meant to talk about my own personal experiences. I did not have to pay for my browser, as I bought a console early in the Wii's life.

2) Would it make a difference if the Wii was a $255 console that came with a web browser??

How does the reuirement that you pay a small fee for the browser negate the fact that it could be used as a valid reason as to why a Wii was needed?

I got my Xbox 360 from working hard.....I bought it with my own money. I live in America, anyone can get a job if they want to. Nuff said.

PREDICTIONS:
(Predicted on 5/31/11) END of 2011 Sales - Xbox 360 = 62M;  PS3 = 59M;  Wii = 97M

@scottie

How much did you?

@post3

No thats not true you could take all your money buy tons of rice/wheat and bring it directly to the starving people in Somalia (or somewhere else). That could do everyone but only some people do that. And I think that if the people that are starving right now would be rich and you would be starving they wouldnt come to you as well. Thats not because the people are bad in general but they just cant imagine how bad this really is.

If only 10% of the western civilization would do that and give up their comfortable lifes would invest all their money in rice nobody would starve but thats not going to happen we are all selfish even if we spend 1% of our years income for poor people.

Well lets see, I'm a struggling student who would fail courses if he worked longer hours, and has to budget very carefully to make sure he has enough food.

So not all that much, about $30. Am I happy about this? Not particularly..

Actually, I have a justification for spending money on my Wii. It helps me relax and unwind after a hard day of studying Physics and Renewable Energy engineering, so that I can eventually make a difference and help save this planet. Do I meet your bizarre personal code of ethics now?

Cheers izaaz

No.
