Although one factor that is up in the air IMHO. Is will Nintendo cut it's life short and release a newer console sooner rather than later?

Will Wii's graphics age gracefully or like a Lead weight in coming years and will that actually have an effect on it's sales?

wow I thought fanboys were delusional but most of you take the cake. Look even if the wii is selling above the ps2 in it's 3rd year this does not matter. Why? because if demand continues for the ps2 it will "always" be head and shoulders higher than the wii in LTD. The ps2 would have to not sell from this period on for the wii to catch it, as long as sony is making a profit on it they will continue to produce the ps2. As for the wii, there will be a successor in probably 2013 due to the fact they will probably want to continue console domination by releasing there next model around the time microsoft launches their new console. This ultimately will kill off the wii earlier than most will expect (IMOB). I believe it will get to about 80 million before it is all said and done, and this is only because at some point the wii will hit saturation and everyone that wants a wii will have a wii.

Wii games have better legs than Ps2 games ever did. Wii Fit will still be selling and pushing consoles in 2015

Wii games do not rely on graphics. In a sense they are already outdated, So they will have less of a detriment from ageing, as they rely on gameplay, controls and other things to make them good

Probably, but like Pristine20 said , in the US the wii is bombing, in japan its getting tired. in where i live Playstation is more popular. which is the "Others" in this site.

Lifetime, the Wii will outsell the PS2. Even when we are close to heading in the next-generation of consoles. The Wii will still be hanging in with its easy-to-purchase price tag and its unique control scheme.

From an article I read, the Wii is currently the fastest selling system the market has seen- that being said, one has to question the longevity of the system. The ps2's success was phenomenal; the gamecube and xbox combined only sold around 45million.

Personally, I don't know if a system can top the ps2's mark this generation. Next generation- maybe.
