I noticed something tricky with the last Madden on Wii :

After week 21, sales seem to nosedive brutally while the game was tracking way higher than its last year counterpart.

Are you asking why in about week 19 sales start to flatten out?

Just a wild guess, but I'd wager football season is ending at that point and people are starting to think about baseball instead.

While they started with almost the exact same sales, 09 has had far better legs than 08. I guess All Play worked after all.

umm no. all play had a better start, but madden 08 legs were larger, has to do with the all play i guess

Madden 08 was gimped on PS3, no surprise that 09 which fixed most of those problems sells better. Personally I think Madden has turned to shit all around, I'm really starting to hate that EA exclusive deal.

Erm...it was sarcasm. Both the PS3 and Wii versions of Madden NFL 09 are doing much better than the 08 versions because both of their userbases are vastly larger. The 360 seems to have hit its limit in the Madden demographic and doesn't show as much year over year growth for the series.

It starts to flatten out because week 19 was the last full week before Christmas.  Actually outside of the holiday season the 08 version has had better legs.

Gamerace, you seem to nail it right. All versions start to flat out after week 21 in big proportions.

Really hate how the Wii version got dicked on by the Ps3's this year :
