This is going nowhere but:

I hope pc's gen started at the launch of the 360 in late (november) 2005 too.

For pc I then count 3: Company of Heroes, Empire Total War, Crysis

For 360 leaving out some shit I count 3 as well: Halo 3, Gears 2, Forza 2

Then ps3 I count 3 again: LittleBigPlanet, MGS4, Killzone 2

And this time wii wins with a crushing amount of 6

?

Wii has 3 as well: SMG, SSBB & Metroid Prime 3

360 also has Geometry Wars 2 & Braid (time exclusive - 2 weeks left)

That is if you consider Zelda, Okami and RE4 last gen ports.

And those two are DL times which in my eyes don't count

Aaaah finally someone who also thinks download-only (mostly Indie) games shouldn't be compared with the high budget games :)

But yeah I really wouldn't count the Wii last gen ports

Sorry I was not playing the most recent game yesterday, haha!

Today I've been playing Empire: Total War. I didn't mention this excellent game because I doubt many console owners have heard of it, but it's just another one of the massive collection of 90+ rated exclusives on PC released this gen.

Lol massive collection.

Orange Box (TF2, HL2e2, Portal),bioshock,Oblivion,cod4,fallout,world of goo,GTA IV. = 9

Company of Heroes,Empire Total War,crysis,galactic civilization expansions x2, wow expansions x2 = 7

total = 16

If you don't count the 4 expansion packs and add the three games of the orange box (which is at 89) to the ps3, you've got 90+ pc: 12  ps3: 14.

As many as any other platform (except wii lol)

I said 90+ rated exclusives (according to metacritic).  Since '05, from most to least:

1) PC

2) 360

3) Wii

4) PS3

Edit:

I forgot GTR2 and Outofthepark baseball 07, but do they matter?

Here, count again:

Good luck.

For the record, my copy of Iron Man was a 43.8gb download

You can count for me. Tell me which games are significant enough. (Civ launched a month before 360 did. another 90 game has only 6 reviews)

Fact is: All platform are equal, but some platforms are more equal than others.

I hate pc elitists that act completely obnoxious and ignorant. That's great that you got to play whatever random game that you pretend is the pinnacle of innovation. I guess us unfortunate console owners are stuck playing Halo 3, Gears of War II, MGS4, Uncharted, Ninja Gaiden 2, SMBB, SMG, Mario Kart, Fire Emblem, LBP, Resistance, God of War III, Fable II and a bunch of other really shitty games I won't bother listing since it would fill up too many pages.

I'm glad we see eye to eye on that. Cept maybe Fire Emblem, and Smash Bros.

So wait, we could get blu ray quality stuff on a dvd with 4.3gbs? Why wouldn't they just make dvd players that decompress these impressive files you guys are talking about?

For several reasons.

1. What's the point in keeping the old type of disc if everyone would have to buy a new DVD player capable of decoding these 720p movies.

2. Usually movies over 2 hours are around 5GB

3. The compression is very noticeable during dark scenes, therefore a movie like The Dark Knight looks pretty bad compressed.

So basically Blu-ray (obviously) is far better at handling HD material, and supports higher resolutions, and better audio, and room for extras.

And depending on film length, and what type of film it is (mostly dark, cartoon, very bright) the quality varies wildly with these 4.37GB files. Blu-ray is just better.

I know, I was just being an ass to whoever said that 4.3gbs could house several hours of blu ray quality video.

@vlad321

Then I feel sorry for you because you either have extremely eccentric tastes in games or just plain bad taste. Either way your missing out on great games. Also don't let nostalgia cloud your judgment. Many 'great' games of the past decade don't stack up very well to games today. It is inevitable that over countless attempts the mechanics of a game will be tweaked to near perfection and make for a much more fluid game. Kill Switch and GoW is a great example. One introduced cover to shooters and the other perfected it. Which one do you think is going to be remembered longer?

It's amazing how closedminded PC fans can be. x.o Personally, I DO actually need to get a new PC so I'll be able to play Diablo III when it comes out. That's probably the only reason I have that makes me absolutely NEED a new PC or laptop.

shio is a good example and the people at gtaforums.com in the pc section

Well if you've been playing aas long as I have you work like this:

You have a best of genre/type game, then every game that comes out is matched up against it. If it's not as good it sucks plain and simple. If it's better then it's basically the 2nd coming of wahtever god you belive in. Hence why most of those suck.
