For me it is 2D all the way. I can't exactly put my finger on it but something about those 2D sprites makes me happy.

Yeah I understand those who think it looks outdated and shouldn't be on home consoles this day and age, but am I the only one who would take a 2D JRPG over a 3D JRPG anyday of the week?

I will admit that 2D sprites are awesome but I'm going to have to go with 3D.

3D JRPG's do a better job of showing emotion, imo, and that's what I like the most.

2D or 3D is fine, although I give the edge to 2D because I generally prefer the hand drawn look of a lot of those games.

Besides that, watching these brave little sprites go through their drama is kind of heartwarming. I understand it when they get all self-doubting and are reduced to spouting ellipses. They're just teeny tiny little sprites, after all. When it's some 3D Cloud alike wallowing in self pity, I just sort of hate the fucker.

I'm assuming you mean 2D sprites and not actually 2D RPGs like Paper Mario and Odin Sphere/Muramusa. Anyhoos, I'm going to go with sprites. I feel the style holds up better over the years and that gets more and more obvious as FF VI continues to look ok while I don't even think Traveller's Tales could do a better job making Lego Final Fantasy VII than Square already did in '97.

ppl say disgaea 3 has ps2 era grafix thats not the case as the game looks fantastic and was made that way.

x-edge is similar it looks good and i cant wait for it.

I care more about individual distinctive styles than I do any one particular method of rendering said style. I don't think any of us would argue that Valkyria Chronicles doesn't look gorgeous. It will probably remain so for the foreseeable future.

I enjoy both pretty evenly.
