I assume the new Zelda will have 2 versions: one for DSi and one for DS. The DSi will have some extra features.

Well knowing ninty they WOULD make Zelda DSi exclusive.

I'm already on my 3rd DS I don't want to go through that again!!

Remember when ninty made you buy that rubbish memory expansion thingie for the N64 just to play MM?

Don't worry. Wait till the next Pokemon becomes *DSi* only... then you'll all understand the strategy.

 

A few weeks ago, i'd probably have laughed this off, but after seeing how much they improved the specs in the DSi (and now this), it seems logical that the DSi is indeed nintendo's "next" handheld.

The only thing I can think of is the camera. Nothing else is crucial. This is why all the outrage seems to be pointless. Especially since the DS Userbase is much, much, much greater than that of the DSI. I do not see Nintendo being able to force that many people to upgrade from a DS to a DSI.  A majority of the DS fanbase will not.

Secondly, there is no way  Nintendo will forsake the DS audience just to make a few dollars from the DSI crowd. Third parties will surely not do this. They all will go after all the fanbase not just the select few. The DSI only carts will have limited appeal .

They kind of said the same thing about the Gameboy Color.

this is going to cause confusion among the casuals, and essentially their splitting their own market, they should of just kept it at the hybrid DS/DSi, but not gone the full DSi only route.....this is just so fucking dumb.
