@ Dbot - Hmm. That's interesting that the Phyre engine would support 360 development...

360 has a strong wrpg library , it's safe to say it will sell well on 360

edit: u edited ur post ?

:S

So, based on what little we know about this game, what do you guys think about it? I know there are hardly any details right now, but I think the game has potential... And it's set on Mars, which is just awesome. =D

I guess you could say that.  Kind of funny if you look at it that way.  I would guess Sony will provide the engine free for PS3/PC releases and charge for a 360 version.

Side note: It's pronounced as "Fire Engine", and the code base follows this motif with one of the hub objects called the "Fire Station".  It's useless information, but someone may find it interesting.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

does anyone know what kind of coding or scripting language the PhyreEngine uses.

I'd definately say that it looks like it could be a great game.  If you read the whole interview it is going to be interesting indeed.

I remember readin that the engine would be easy to port to other platforms, like the PC and 360 when Sony announced it. I think it was around the time when the PS3 wasn't getting very good 3rd party support, so Sony wanted the engine to be attractive even to those who wanted to do multiplats.

And some good interviews, I hope these guys find themselves a nice publisher.

Still not hyped for the game.... Info.... MOAR!!

@ kowenicki

Guess you could say that. RPGs set in space. But I don't think Spiders are out to outdo Mass Effect, it's more of a God of War vs. Devil May Cry sort of competition I'd say.
