It's having better legs (not necessarily longer as it hasn't been out too long) than anything this generation.

 

Agreed. Also, if rumours are true, new PSP model could also boost MHP2nd G sales.

Didn't know PSP had new colors this week until you mentioned it in the article. Thats why Monster Hunter 2G is up - it sells at about a 30-40% attach rate most weeks.

Wow If Sony keeps this momentum up in Japan until the FFXIII demo drops we could see PS3 outsell the Wii in Japan for the majority of the year. Might actually be able to use its sales in Japan to cut the lead Xbox 360 has WW.

Sony Get some JRPG's out there stat! FFXIII(Full Game) should be able to cut the lead of the 360 by a nice Mill in Japan at Least!(Hopefully) add that with a slew of AA and AAA JRPG's and you'll be Nice!

^^ The only thing Sony can do to really cut into MS' lead is a price cut. Big games will give small, short-lived boosts, but for longevity they need a cut.

It looks like the PS3 is going through the same revival that the PSP was going through over a year ago. The 360 sales collapsed with no new JRPGs on the horizon.

That'd give us some absolutely nutty sales figures for the week.  Hope you're right (though I'd love a WW cut before the end of the year).
