Just to let you know, SONY doesn't have to beat MS in price, it just to be more affordable. MS is pretty much done with price drops and if they do manage one i dont see it having a major empact or lasting effect

Sony can make it more affordable but if the compeition make their consoles and this includes the Wii even more affordable you seem expensive again. I certainly do not think Microsoft is done not by a long shot and I suspect they are working on a combination possibly on price and models. I think you make a big mistake in underestimating Microsofts resolve this generation.
I am not saying Microsoft can produce that perfect storm in the same way they produced it last time but Sony could find themselves losing money to stand still and that may not be such a good idea. Everyone seems so eager for Sony to push the self destruct button. Even Nintendo who have had nothing but success for the Wii announce a price increase in at least one major territory.

To be more specific, PS3 struggles at textures what simply wasn't supposed to be considering the RSX has 50% more texture mapping units than X360's GPU. One can easily suppose such issues come from the small amount of memory avaliable (around 450 MB for both video and main pool). The N64 also had a limited texture cache which made it extremely difficult to load anything but small, low color depth textures into the rendering engine. Look at Fallout 3 or any other PS3 multiplat that looks noticeably blurry. An oversight on the part of the hardware designers is to blame instead of a specific hardware limitation.
Valkyria Chronicles already made my PS3 a good purchase. I'm done now. It can sit there and collect dust as far as I'm concerned and I wouldn't regret buying it. Now I just use it for penis envy.
