I would not say it was underrated just over priced (in comparison to the competition) I would also argue that any price cut Sony introduce will quickly be nullified by Microsoft who in my opinion are going for the juggler.

Sony are doing well in third place right now, I am not sure they should invest in what potentially could be a price war with Microsoft as I am not so sure they will win. When the exchange rates bounce back then they should pounce after all this is the console with a ten year plan.

dreamcast failed but ps3 wont. its best to leave it at that.

The Phrase saw its end when it surpassed 10 million (by a huge gap) and lasted longer than the Dreamcast.

Though its up for debate whether it can hold on to 3rd place, it could slip to 4th like the Dreamcast, I think the Zeebo will be unstoppable.

All of this seems to be an optimistic wish for a price cut.

That price cut does not make sense if it causes a company that is losing money to lose even more money.

Not only that, but such a cut could send the stock price dropping -- making Sony a takeover target.

Think about it.

The price cut will be closer to the holiday season -- when the exchange rate is hopefully more favorable and the production costs have been lowered even further.
