Forums - Sales - Madworld debuts 12K IN OTHERS!70k 1 week!Your Thoughts??

It might have legs, but I honestly think if you want to see large sales with M rated games then the Wii is not your platform of choice.

I would hazard a majority of Wii owners either bought it for their kids (i.e. they will not be buying M rated games anytime soon) or for fun via Wii Sports, Mario and for titles like Wii fit.

I'm in the family/fun category. I'm just not interested in anything the whole family can't play on the Wii and I doubt I'm in the minority. I know the PS2 sold M rated games fine, but I really think the Wii has struggled to do so. I think only RE games have sold anywhere decent on the Wii (as examples of M rated games).

Still, nice looking game.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Damn Europe

the number is for 2 days in EU, also, the game should have legs

Wii is not Xbox360/Ps3, we can see if the sales are good after 1 month or so

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

So is it safe to say that the Wii is a system where the majority of its 48M is casual gamers? Or are people going to continue the argument that there is no Hardcore or Casual gamers and claim that the people who own a Wii are the same people who would play gears?

It just seems that whenever someone brings up the subject that the Wii can't support 3rd parties or Hardcore titles people get mad and claim otherwise but I mean Madworld was Hyped up critically and I've seen some people on THIS site say that it was going to sell around KZ2 numbers, Maybe it might have legs but I doubt it.

I do think that if this game was done on the Xbox 360 it could have been something big. And Im a PS3 fanboy

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I think.... I think it may be more the problem that people are very narrow about what hardcore games count, you know? There are a lot of different genres of hardcore games. A very good argument could be made for Zelda as a hardcore series, and the same is true of Mario, or even Pokemon.

Man this thread dive bombed quickly

1) never call a Wii game a flop after 1 week of sales, you will look like an idiot if you do

2) Madworld was released in Europe for 2 days, and has not seen an Australian release yet

3) People did not call LBP a flop. Before it was released, Sony fanboys were overhyping it, claiming it would sell over 5 (or even in some cases) 10 million. We laughed at these people, but that does not mean the game was a flop

4) (and this isn't at the OP) Madworld is quite well suited to the Wii. In my opinion, it wouldn't have sold as well on the PS360 because it is too unique, too different.

5) Why did you create this thread? Certainly not to have a discussion, because in the OP you ask a question, then answer it and pretend that your answer is the only correct one.

This game would have sold asstons more on the 360... it's not unique in any sense but it's art direction...

People say this, but I'm not as sure. The 360's library for brawlers is already very strong. Ninja Gaiden alone fulfills most of those needs!

I just have a feeling i would be lost in the shuffle, like every other game by this studio.

(I hope it is not lost in the shuffle here)

I'd easily give you Zelda and Pokemon, but only Mario's platformers are truely hardcore... all the rest is BS bridge games or worse silly casual... Double Dash being the exception with the Cart series

NOW WAIT----let me get this straight….it only had two major markets…and was only out for two days in one of those…and almost had 100k for the first week…..and this is a flop?

*edit--i am not a mod so i cant throw ban hammers but i can
