Probably the SNES/Genesis era. It really brought nothing new except Sonic (and a few other smaller franchises)

This gen is awesome, the PS2 gen is best ever, PS1 gen amazing, NES gen was legendary, Atari gen started it all.

Not the worst but as of right now, it's down there, imo. Hopefully that changes soon.

I think the console vendors tried to beat each other too much this generation and have not been focused on gamers enough...

Wii is technically inferior from a graphics and sound perspective, but it is strong on concepts and interactive interfaces. Also, it started strong on games, but the last year and a half has been average at best.

The 360 was rushed out a year early. And they ended up with a lot of hardware problems because of it.

I also think the PS3 was rushed out too early, with there being only one really great (Resistance) game until the second Christmas. Also, although KZ2 looks great, I think the PS3 over promised and under-delivered on what it wanted to do.

So, to me this generation has not been the best. I don't think it was the worst. Just not the best. Gen 3 or 5 was the worst. Gen 6 was the best.

This gen blows but it isn't fair to call it the worst yet. Once it's over I can't imagine it being as bad as the 5th gen.

No, this is not my least favourite console gen, infact it is probably my favourite.

It has seen some of the best games in my favorite franchises, Galaxy, Brawl, Kart, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, with promises of Pikmin, Mario, Zelda, and others to come.

My parents and non gaming friends have started gaming, so now I can share this wonderful pastime with them

I have got into new franchises and experiences that I never have before - Fire Emblem being a good example.

Motion controls have caused great innovations in this industry, which had been stagnating last generation.
