I know what you're saying this guys insane. Nope i'm not I just want to know how this gen stacks up to the others. Now first off let me say that yes the graphics,physics,online features etc are better than previous gen but thats not what i'm asking. I'm asking are the quality of the games as good as previous gen. Take for instance in N64,PS1,Genesis, you had games like FFVII,Sonic games actually didn't suck, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time. In the PS2,Gamecube,Xbox era, Halo, GT3,San Andreas, SuperSmash Bros Melee etc. My point is that in previous gen you had games that revolutionized the industry and gamers appreciated games. This gen has a lot of iconic games but their either (i) underrated (ii) criticized by fanboys (iii) or underappreciated due to comparison. Eg Killzone 2, Halo 3; although a great game fans say it wasn't as good as 2. Games should be appreciated for their quality and I think that this Gen is bad because the media has bombrushed the gaming industry and nintendo revolution has come at a price, great titles like killzone 2 aren't given the credit they deserve. This generation will probably be seen as the best due to technological leaps but this is expected of all generations. So lets take out the obvious tech leaps and ask ourselves, how does this gen compare to all the other? I've spent days at a time on PS1,PS2,NES,SNES,Dreamcast,Gamecube,Gameboy Line of Hardware. This gen console games are great but you play them beat them once go online for a few times then forget about the game completely. Back in the days i played games till my hands were numb, fighting games like marvel vs capcom, peeled the flesh of my thumbs until I say blood and I still continued playing them. This gen has greatgames but the difficulty has been toned down and bad press has screwed this gen. So what do you guys think?

its the worst because of the division, both real and imagined, between consoles.

Graphics are the best among all, obviously.

And beside that.. it is the relative worst (but still good)...

The only redeemer of this gen is the DS. This gen lacks quality JRPG's, but the DS brings them by the shitload. JRPG's are one of the big reasons why I stick to consoles rather than PC's.
