Forums - Gaming - PS3, arguably best system to date?

No one system is better than the other. It all comes down to personal taste.

The article wasn't very convincing of itself either.

No BC, getting raped when it comes to overall games that have scored 90+ and 80+. (Vs another HD console)

Best system? Not by a long shot.

Well, I just bought the PS3 last week and I love it! The selling points for me were the Blu-Ray, Wi-Fi built in, free online access, and dependability. On the other hand I have had my Xbox 360 for a year now (it has never RROD on me) and I still love it! However, now that I have a blu-ray disc player I can't see watching dvd's with standard definition. It also seems to me that the up-conversion capabilities of the PS3 is better than the Xbox 360's.

A slightly annoying thing to me about the Xbox 360 is that I would have to pay an extra $80 to $100 to get wi-fi when it comes standard on the PS3 and Wii. Also, I don't like paying for internet access twice. It's bad enough that I have to pay a monthly bill for internet access so why should I have to pay for it again. Yes, Xbox Live is better than Playstation Network, but when something is free it's pretty darn good to me.

As for the Wii, well, I got one for Christmas and I must say Mario Kart Wii is pretty dang FUN! I have always loved Mario Kart and the Wii version is AWESOME!!

So, I am the proud owner of all three consoles of this generation and I love them all. As for the best, well, I think it depends on the person and what they love more. I love different aspects of each console. Overall, I would have to say that the PS3 is the better of the three right now, most likely because I just got it and it's new and you know how people get when they get new things.

I didn't read the article, but "arguably" is definitely the key word.

ps1>ps2>ps3>xbox in terms of only games released (note that I'm only qualified to judge console I've owned). However, the ps3 is still relatively new so I'll give it time.

In terms of usefulness to me, ironically, I find that ps3>ps1>ps2>xbox

NES, arguably the best system to date.... Genesis, arguably the best system to day... you see how that works?

i didnt even read the op. but why in the world is such a topic coming from this xbot ????

Cause all the "Xbots" are jealous of the PS trey :(

It's hard for them to be to jelous when their console of choice keeps taking Sony mainstay titles away

^ The third party titles were never Sony titles to begin with. It is only obvious that developers would take their IP multiplatform this generation.

Unfortunately, you need to own all 3 consoles this generation, because many of the console exclusives are too good to ignore. Third parties have realized this is a multi-plat console generation, it's time some of the people on this site realize it also.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Which means it makes no sense to spend extra money for a PS3.

Arguably, yes.

In reality, no.
