"15 million Mario Kart Wiis say hi (which is higher than any other "traditional game" this generation, I might add)"
Admitted. I'm not going to say that 11 million multiplat for GTA IV and 9 million for Halo 3 are higher than 15 million. It isn't a new mature audiences ip from a studio other than Nintendo though. Maybe I should have qualified the statement by adding the word mature audiences, but since we were talking about Madworld and how it hasn't had strong sales like amost every other new mature audiences ip on the Wii I kind of figured it was a given.
"8.5 million SSBBs say hi (third best-selling "traditional game" this generation)"
Same thing I pointed out with Mario Kart Wii. Neither one of these top two you've listed are better than Mario Galaxy, yet they have both sold better.
"8 million SMGs say hi (fourth best-selling "traditional game" this generation)"
Considering its the best game on the Wii and other games like the ones you've listed above and Wii Fit, Wii Sports, and Wii Play have sold so well, then you would have thought that it would have sold even better by now. Not selling as well as those other games is a bad sign for core games on the Wii because it developers could view creating games like those with the better sales to be more in their own interest.
"5 million TPs say hi"
Like Mario Galaxy, it is the second best game on the system. You would have thought that the game would have legs like the inferior Wii series games even though the Gamecube might have cut into the Wii versions original sales, the Gamecube has been retired for going on three years now, so after the Gamecube's retirement, why didn't TP Wii continue to sell like the inferior Mario Kart Wii or Wii Play?

"3 million Animal Crossings say hi"
"2.75 million Super Paper Marios say hi"
2 million Sonic and the Secret Rings say hi

The 3 examples above are very poor signs for the Wii. Wario Shake It! can also be thrown into their mix. These numbers for games which review wise are just as good as the Wii series games or better yet are selling much worse encourage developers' to create more Wii series type games than these types of games. In many instances you even see Playstation 3 games having better sales than these games with 30 million fewer PS3 owners.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.66 million RE4s say hi
1.5 million Metroid Prime 3s say hi
1.3 million Pokemon Battle Revolutions say hi
1.25 million RE: UCs say hi
1.2 million Star Wars: TFUs ay hi
1.1 million Red Steels say hi
1 million COD: WAWs say hi
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are all games that should have sold many times more than they did considering such factors as review scores for the games in comparison to other games that have sold better yet received worse review scores on the Wii. For the system's 28th, 41st, and 65th best game to sell 15 to 40 times better than the system's 6th and 8th best game is inexcusable. And the last time I checked sales for SWTFU on PS3 and Wii were virtually identical even with the 30 million difference in install base. Resident Evil 5 combined on 360 and PS3 have almost passed the sales of RE4 Wii in two weeks while the Wii version has been out close to a year. And in close to three weeks, Killzone 2's sales are up there with these Wii shooters. Not to mention a new ip like Uncharted having 3 times these numbers on the PS3.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Not to mention, there are many games that were successes without passing the million mark - No More Heroes, de Blob, Wario Land: Shake It, and so on. The first two I know are successful in the eyes of the developper, and I'm sure Nintendo can't be too unhappy with the sales of Wario Land."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PS3 and 360 versions of many of these games like Madworld, Okami, Zack and Wiki, and No More Heroes can still be made to offset their poor sales on the Wii console. No More Heroes despite its poor sales has attracted a cult following indicating the game could succeed in other types of media. But how long will developers continue to put much money in these types of games on Wii when other types of games sell so much better? If The Conduit doesn't pass 500,000 this could be the end of these types of new ips being developed for the Wii.
"Of course, traditional games don't sell on Wii, just like hardcore games don't sell on Wii, and third party games don't sell on Wii, and only casual games and shovelware sell on Wii. ~_~"
You're right, but I don't think that was Nintendo's original intention with the Wii. I think they were surprised by the Wii's success and that accounts for the lack of vision at their E3 2008 conference as they ponder what types of games to bring to the system.
