IGN: Will Drake have different animations depending on his surroundings --shivering in the cold, slipping on wet pavement, etc.?

Richard Lemarchand: We're big believers that great animation grounds a character in the reality of a world better than almost anything else, and so we're paying lots of attention to giving Drake a very wide range of context-dependent animation that helps sell what's happening around him in the world.

One new animation feature for Uncharted 2 is that, if he hasn't been spotted by the enemies in an area that he enters, Drake will hunker down and look as if he's trying to keep a low profile as he walks along, in order to get the drop on his foes. Drake still stumbles over uneven terrain or if he only just makes a jump, and he will look stressed while he's in combat, as we layer additional animations into both his posture and his facial features.

Another huge new feature for us in that we've added technology that lets any character in the game perform all of their traversal and combat behaviors on any kind of moving object. This has expanded what's possible for our game design in an incredible way, and has given us the ability to easily create those big summer blockbuster moments from the movies that the Uncharted universe is so inspired by. Whether it's fighting on a moving vehicle as it races through the countryside, or running around inside a tower block as it starts to collapse - all of those tense, over-the-top moments can now be experienced by players in gameplay, while they're actually playing.

Awesome. I was blown away by the dept of the animation system in the first uncharted and i'm glad to see that it looks like i wont be dissapointed this time around :P

MANY people agree, KZ2's color scheme fit perfectly for it's atmosphere. If KZ2 looked like Uncharted, there would've been something wrong with that picture. Trash talking KZ2's colors just means people should find something else to do with their time...

killzone 2 is more orange and red than gray/brown/green anyways :P

This looks awesome! First day buy for sure!

@ Staude

lol...it's all about that ORANGE man :D

Hell yeah ! haven't seen particles portrayed in the air in other games at a level that even comes close to killzones. The dusk, sand dunes... and later effects.. DAMN XD

And it's the same in multiplayer :P

awesome !

On another note the background add pisses me off.. makes my laptop lag.. a lot !

Meaning such as bumps etc to create a sense of 3d while many other games focus more on model details. And you didn't exacly show off a lot of colours in what you chose.. brown being what i would use to describe it.

Those screens weren't about the color o.o They were to show how pictures get touched up. Stop trying to start a war.

@CGI: At least some vegetation... I haven't played through it completely, no, but i never saw vegetation anywhere, not on screens or gameplay vids.

But that was not what this thread was about. It was about uncharted, and i claim, those screens are touched up. So stop trying to make this into a war. I mean, Uncharted has more color than KZ2, that's what i claimed, and suddenly all of you start acting like I'm some X360 fanboy.

This thread is about Uncharted isn't it? What's so bad about claiming it has better color than KZ2? I mean, what the hell? It's the freaking truth. And well, about being touched up, i gave my reason why, no game has the amount of AA as in those screens, not even KZ2, that's why i believe they are touched up. That's it. The edges. Nothing more. Geez it's like I'm saying to Christians Jesus was not the son of God.

Edit:

After visiting IGN, between the two screenshots, it's already apparent which is touched up. This one is not:

And this one is:

Almost all are/seem touched up except the first one, 13(thank blur), 18, 23 (not sure), 26(thank blur again).

From a technical perspective, it does matter. But never mind -.- I never said anything.

If anyone it's you who'se derailing the thread, but before i leave let me just say that you can't say a game has bad colours unless it looks bland or boring. If the colours chosen in a game fit's the artstyle they aren't bad. Nomatter what colours they may be.

But regardless.. killzone 2 has a big colourscheme as you find out in later levels.
