Um, seriously... what?? That's probably the first time I ever heard of Nintendo being 'overpriced' (when they're the cheapest current gen system out there). Just because they're actually making money (which is what any company is SUPPOSED to do) doesn't mean they're overpriced. And enough about it being 'last-gen' technology already when they're the only ones that really innovated and made big changes to the way games are played. The speed of processing may be slower, but they used 'next-gen' technology to instead reduce power consuption, size, and noise, while creating a new way to play games. 'Next-gen' doesn't always mean way faster, it can also mean smaller and cooler (temperature). |
It's like Apple with the iPod or iPhone, the profit margins are huge. In the engineering sense, I think I'm getting better deal on my PS3 and X360.
I'm still waiting for a killer Ap on the Wii, which I haven't really seen yet. A cool controller does not automatically make games good, as the same with graphics. For everything I've done on the Wii, I've done in some other way in the last 20 years of gaming, whether it's a light gun, power glove, power pad, etc.
The only console with a true killer ap right now is the 360 (bioshock).
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

If you are concerned with that, then you should build yourself a PC.
Back on topic: I hate the Wii because it's small, stylish and won't make my electricity bill skyrocket.

Actually, I am on a PC I built a few years ago. No Lost Odyssey, Final Fantasy XIII, or practically any other jRPGs on PC.

I hate Sega for cancelling Sonic Xtreme, and taking a dump on Sonic with every new game they release. I hate how people criticise certain games for being "childish." Mario, Crash, Sonic, Spyro, Banjo, Ratchet, Kirby, Jak, Rayman, and others, are not childish, they are awesome platformers, made for everyone. They are "E" for "everyone," not "C" for "children." Other "E" rated games are childish, but not those, so leave those alone. I hate Nintendo for not releasing any new 2D Mario games when the Gameboy Color, and Gameboy Advance came out. I hate Microsoft for having no good platform games. Blinx? Come on Microsoft, you can do better than that. I hate Sony for killing Spyro, and Crash, and Jak (Jak 2? No...) (thank goodness we still have Ratchet). I hate all sports games. I hate all movie games. I hate Crash Bandicoot now, I hate Sonic now, I hate Spyro now. I hate almost all "M" rated games, except for Halo, because too many of them are stupid war games. I hate all "eC" rated games, and all "A" rated games, and many "T" games, for being too immature, and too lame, and all of those "other" "E" rated games, for being too childish. I hate games that are too childish, games that are too violent, and the fact that it is almost impossible to find good games that are neither too childish, nor too violent, without them being stupid sports games. I hate the over flow of racing games. I hate buying bad video games, then having to resell them for less, because they suck too much. I hate wrestling games. Okay, I'm done.
| Kayanator said: Me? I hate the Xbox360. Majority of games are FPS and sport games, there is little variety and I hate it because it's American, the latter which maybe I could forgive if the quality of the library was far more versatile abnd larger. Not much software innovation on the system either. I rate it a 3/10 (original xbox 2/10) |
We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai
It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps
We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick
I hate PS3 because DVDs were good enough
I hate PS2 because CDs were good enough
I hate PS1 because cartridges were good enough.
