Forums - Nintendo - Wii-Wishes! What I Want From Nintendo in 2009

1) More "hardcore" Nintendo IPs make it to Wii.
I know we're getting Punch Out!! and Sin & Punishment 2 but I want F-Zero and the super-MattCassamassinaHyped Kid Icarus Wii!

3 we already know is happening, 4 ignores non Wii___ games like EXCITETruck, Disaster, etc. (I suppose that last one doesn't count in the U.S. though...grrrr....), 6 and 7 are very likely (especially 7. Iwata's starting to get cocky for some reason...).

Regarding 1, though, wasn't kombo the place that broke Kid Icarus, and IGN just ran with it? Seems a bit ironic for them to be calling someone else out about that...(yes, I know kombo was more restrained than IGN, but it still seems kind of funny that a site is crediting their story to someone else).

I wish for Zelda most of all but I would gladly buy any of those games you mentioned.

A new F-Zero game (with several control options) would be nice.

I wouldn't mind having a new Metroid game either, but I really doubt that a 2D WiiWare release will happen. If anything, it will be a 2D DS game.

Also, the first company who makes an OK grade-sword fighting game will get a crapload of sales.

the redone retro metroid would be awesome, so would a zelda like 2 or 1

i want storage space in 09 tho tbh

games wise a gta native to wii would be the best thing ever

but yeh bring on fzero with the online of mariokart ;)

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

2) Metroid Dread.
Nintendo can call it whatever they want -- all a guy wants is a WiiWare 2D Metroid title. I loved the Prime series but I cannot wait from a retro Metroid title. A Megaman 9-treatment would be much appreciated Nintendo!

3) Pikmin 3.
Self-explanatory. Do it Nintendo. Here's hoping for an E3 announcement!

4) New, mega, IPs from Nintendo.
Pikmin is the biggest new IP from Nintendo in the last
decade. The Wii has yet to get a proper one not in the Wii____ range!

5) Golden Sun 3.
This is a personal favorite. I still want to know what happened to Alex Camelot!!

6) New Retro [EPIC] IP.
By Retro I don't mean old, I mean a Retro Studios IP. The developers behind the Prime series are secretly working on something big. I hope Nintendo do not announce it a couple of months before release only. A new IP needs hype and advertising. Don't let me down Nintendo please!

7) Expect the unexpected.
We all know Nintendo can be very secretive and I am sure they are cooking up something big, controversial and very unexpected. Wait for it.
this is probably one of the best of these ive seen. the guy is reasonable and doesnt seem the type to throw a tantrum if he doesnt get all he wants.   1,3,4,7 all seem reasonable. although whether theyll happen this year is debateable. i think nintendo will be pretty hard pressed to stop number 1 appearing every single year. i mean say we knew that nitnendo was bringing F-zero to wii by the end of the year,  people would still be clamouring for star fox, donkey kong ect. personally i think that golden sun 3 would be awesome!

Doesn't it seem like this person is actually more concerned about hype and promotion than the games themselves? I've seen a few other Nintendo fans like this. It's like he had more fun with Sakurai's regular SSBB development updates than he had actually playing Brawl.

I get the feeling that the "hardcore" fanbase is more upset about Nintendo's 60-day promotion strategy then they are with Nintendo's actual game development. They miss the hype and anticipation, even though the games still come.
