I see the irony two fold.
First, there have been several other "Obama food products" put out accross the world by local companies looking for extra promotion. I've seen several reported as curiosities in variouse news stories over the last few weeks. But now it's fried chicken, so there is possible "racisim" at work.
Second, fried chicken is a tradition african american dish dating back to the slavery days. It's not an African dish. Obama who's father was Kenyan is not part of that culture. Cornbeef (which I am cooking right now) is an Irish-American traditional dish. Not so big over in Ireland.
Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
