Forums - Sony - No transporting RE5's saved data?

So I want to play some RE5 at my brothers house when I go over so I try to copy the data onto my external harddrive like I do for all other games so i dont have to start over and it says that this type of data is not allowed ot be copied. What gives? Why would Capcom bother ot not let you copy the data? And does that mean that my game data is strictly tied to only my PS3 now? Is there another way to transfer the saved data? this is ridiculous.

I'm hoping there is a hidden way like they did with inviting friends and going split screen. I had to search online to figure out how to do both of those things. They don't make it very obvious.

I'm not surprised you can't transfer the data since I'm assuming if you could transfer save data you could cheat to get trophies and achievements.

But trophies should not be retroactive. Kind of like in Uncharted, I had to start over to get the trophies even for things I had already done before the trophy patch.

Is it really that big of an issue??? I don't see the problem.... unless you have like 2 or more PS3's :S....

I am really getting tired of you people using the word "gay" that way. Grow up!

Or unless you have friends... which believe it or not most people do have. I have a bunch of friends with PS3's and my brother who I don't live with has one. I can't continue my saved games over at their houses without bringing my PS3. How annoying is that?

The trend, as I understood, is that all games that have an online ranking system have copy locked save files. Or at least, that's what I understand from the cases of Killzone 2, Motorstorm:PR and SFIV.

I don't understand why RE5 behaves the same way, unless it's because of the oncoming competitive multiplayer DLC?

And, of course, I also don't understand the locking in the first place...
