NO IT IS NOT. Its a PlayStation system. If it doesn't sell over 100 million its not very successful

I agree heavily with the thread
PSP will get a new breath of life this year and then next year the price will be below $100 and will go like wild fire.

While is possible and it has potential, i don't see it happening it has sold 46m in about 4 years even if we assume it'll sell the same in the next 4 years (which won't do it) it would take it like 5 years to do it and i don't think Sony is stupid enough to not start selling the PSP2 by that time.

So it makeing money for Sony is not successful?
Former something....
it is all up to Sony on how long they are willing to push the PSP
PSP would definitely hit 75m by 2011 jan (with the same $170price tag)
a price cut should give it a shot at 100 million....it is highly possible

PSP hasn't sold 51 million.

Shipped 51.5m or the like through Q3 so I assume yes, it already sold 51 million by now.
DS has been out for five years, it's much more popular, and it's only just about to hit 100 million, despite not releasing its' third iteration outside of Japan yet. PSP is already on its' third version, and is still in the 40s. For this reason, I doubt it can hit 100 mil. But it's done a mighty impressive job for a Non-Nintendo handheld.
no, PSP is already on the downward slope in the west. It's got a really long ways to go and it has been out for quite a long time. I don't see any situation where this could happen.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
I think it can get to 80 million, 100 million seems too much. But who knows what will happen when it gets to below $100.
