Forums - Sales - Why are you doing (playing) with your PSP ???

I was playing alot of GTA VCS and KZ recently (the 2 best games on the system) and I think i'll be getting Syphon Filter Logans Shadow, Renegade Squadron and SWAT Target Liberty this year, but i'll replace old games with them, which will mean I'll have about 10 games in total.

i play GTA:VCS, ace combat, valkeyre profile: lenneth, ratchet and clank and a whole host of emulated games form old nintnedo systems. :P mario tennis, super mario bros. pokemon, etc. for the most part, i use it as a media player for movies, .mp3's and wireless web access. i wish NA would get playTV as that would be perfect for my needs. ^^ i look at the psp and see an ipod/DS fusion with online play, intenret access and potential for streaming live telelvision, all cheaper then your standard video ipod.

I played the demo of Jeanne D'Arc and I'm trying to debate if I am willing to sink 30-40 hours into that SRPG. It was fun.

Get it. Jeanne d'arc is the most fun Ive had with a portable game this year.

Playstation Portable? It's just another Sega Gamegear, Atari Lynx, NeoGeo, et cetera. What does it have? Ratchet, Daxter, Lumines 1+2, Wipeout Pure, LocoRoco, and perhaps a few other good games. As it stands, it's too mediocre to compete with the big boy, Nintendo DS. It's awesome for emulation, though. I've been playing Super Mario 64 on it, and it's just wicked!

don't forget tekken and the GTA games. it's abit harsh to compare the psp to Lynx, Neo and gamegear, especially since it's sold twice as much as those three systems combined just two years into it's shelf life and has decent third party support. i wouldn't call it mediocre as it's hardly designed to fight the DS, the general trend has been towards a playstation 1.5 aimed at the video ipod market. think about it: it's got built in web browsing, .mp3 playback, video playback and a widescreen and Internet access with forthcoming video out support. These aren't features aimed at the traditionally young portable market. These are features aimed to teenagers who want something cheaper and more useful then a video ipod.

and yes, the emulation support kicks ass. homebrew alone could sell this system.

TO be quite honest a good selling point of the PSP hardware is the modding. I bout my PSP in the christmas of 2005 and didnt pay for a game till feb 2007. I usually never bought handhelds as I would rather listen to music then to play GB or GameGear back in the day. I had a Game gear and it was good but suxed cause it was a battery rapist.
Today i own 5 psp games as i feel they are all worth the purchase Ratchet & Clank, MGS: PO, Jeanne D'Arc, Tekken 5 DR, and Valkrie Profile Lenneth.

I have a ton of PSP games downloaded nearly 30GB worth of psp games about 10 GB of PS1 emulated games, and 2GB of GBA, SNES, N64, and Gennisis games for my psp.

Currently I am playing Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops and sometimes Killzone: Liberation online on my PSP. Like El Duderino said, a big problem is the fact that it offers a console experience. Almost all the good games are spin-offs from ps2 franchises. Sony came with locoroco, but that's it (the sales weren't as good as sony thought they would be?). Same goes for Jeanne D'Arc, a new PSP game, and sells like crap in the US.

That, piracy and the more popular DS are the main reasons imo.

It's great to stream pron to my bedroom from my ps3/computer. :)

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

Well now that I have heard about Lair on remote play I will be playing through it on my breaks at work. Other then that I use it for music, TV, movies, internet, and most of all gaming. Right now I am in the middle of daxter for the 3rd time, I have also been playing locoroco to death. The game with the most play time is castlevania, I have been playing it anytime I can not be on my PC,360 or PS3.
