Forums - Sales - PAL Charts week 11 (2009). Resident Evil 5 and Sonic ATBK debuts.

UK Week 11 releases:

Sorry for the delay, I've been away for the last few days. I think MGS4 Platinum got delayed from Week 10 to Week 11 as it failed to make the PS3 budget chart in Week 10, but is a new entry at #6 this week. Unfortunately we no longer have numbers from ELSPA budget charts, but MGS4 is below GT5:P which sold 1,363 in week 10, and above Assassin's Creed which sold 732 in Week 10. So MGS4 Platinum should be somewhere around 1k this week.

@BKK2: E:TW, just like almost any PC game, should keep selling for years and will easily reach 100k, and possibly 200k.

Well, my comments were about March sales, not LTD sales. Of course E:TW will reach 100k, it just won't reach it as quickly as it's first week sales suggested. As for almost any PC game selling for years, the vast majority quickly drop out of the top 40 never to be seen again. Here's Week 10 UK budget chart:

You are actually wrong. I remember some guy once saying that the nº100 PC game at NPD sells better than the nº50 game from any console.

If you look closely, the Xbox 360's Top Budget game sold 5400 copies, yet the nº8 sold only ~1300 - that's a 76% drop. While on PC, the Top Budget game sold 1057 and the 8th did 636 - only a 40% drop. It's more impressive if you remember that PC has probably more budgets games than all other platforms combined. Many 10+ year old PC games are still being sold in the stores.

US is not UK, and expecting me to accept "some guy once said" as a source is ridiculous.

#8 X360 game outsold the #8 PC game 2-1, Orange Box (360) also outsold Orange Box (PC) 2-1, so I really don't see how this proves me wrong.

I didn't use the guy as a source, but I gave you 2 reasons that prove my point:

1- There's more PC games released than all console games combined.
2- Budget games drop slower compared to the top.

That means that even if those extra titles sell 100 weekly each, if they're combined it will be a sizeable amount. You have to question yourself as to how did PC sell more games than Xbox 360 between Jan 25 - Feb 21 in UK even though only 5/6 PC games ever showed up in  the top 40 during that time.
