patents should be killed!.
they just not permiting other companies to come with better product and lowers prices and makes the maker to stand their game and improve it.

Just emailed their contact email a pretty funny message. Tis a shame they didn't try to go after Activision-Blizzard first. I'd like to see them go down in flames. A bunch of WoW addicts will probably hack their page/world and screw them into the ground.
This is why the USA legal system needs to have a loser pays legal fees when someone sues someone. So less bullshit lawsuits are brought up.

yes it is. For some reason the rest of my comment didnt go through. I wanted to add that while patents are a good thing, some times they go too far. Its either exactly the same or its not. If its not the same as what was intended and in the patent then it shouldnt count. For instance the rumble feature in controllers. M$, Sony and Nintendo all used different types. They all rumbled, but I doubt they were exactly the same as the original patent.
They might succeed with second life, but trying to sue Blizzard = FAILURE.
That's ridiculous, anyway. It's like patenting a wheel.
how can your patent something like this? Its a media medium...
Next we are going to have a company that write the patent to write books and sue every bookseller ?
LOL
the ppl suing this are vicious. they're going after a weaker company to enforce the patent. ncsoft being vulnerable because they are in the red the past financial quarter. the thing about patents is it is considerably harder to overturn a ruling then it is to make a ruling. so when they go to court against ncsoft they have to get the court to rule in favor with them. they chose east texas as the space to sue this korean company because east texas is infamous for making antiforeign decisions. once they have the ruling, when they go up against blizzard and other larger companies, and because of precedence, the court is no longer deciding if the patent holds, but rather if the texas court decision holds. It is so much harder to overturn a court decision especially a recent one, than to prove theri patent is bullshit. worlds.com has done everything to give themselves an advantage in their legal battle against ncsoft. they sent their notification that they were suing ncsoft, the day before christmas. There is some legal mumbo jumbo, saying that not responding to the notification within 6 days is suspicious and implies that ncsoft is guilty, this case being patent violation. So to outline Worlds.com:
1. Choose a Korean based MMO company, that is losing money.
2. Sue them, by bring them in front of an East Texas court, infamous for making decisions against foreign companies.
3. Send the notification of legal action the day before Christmas. Immediately, get an advantage in the trial when NCsoft responded the day everyone came back to work at their company, specifically new years day.
4. After they win, go after larger companies accusing them of the same patent violation, only this time with a court decision behind them, making their case several times harder to defeat.
Blizzad will annihilate them.
