Richard Nye?

*tsk tsk tsk* Nye Bevan.

^ Oh OK.

@ everyone who claims Einstein was German or American etc... I'm pretty sure he was Austrian... In fact he hated the Germans

-edit- Oh yeah, it's Einsteins birthday tomorrow, we are having a massive party to celebrate (really, the geekyness shines through me)

-edit edit- I thought today was friday lol

Normand brathwaite

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

"Albert Einstein was born into a Jewish family in Ulm, in the Kingdom of Württemberg in the German Empire on March 14, 1879. His father was Hermann Einstein, a salesman and engineer. His mother was Pauline Einstein (née Koch). In 1880, the family moved to Munich, where his father and his uncle founded a company, Elektrotechnische Fabrik J. Einstein & Cie, that manufactured electrical equipment based on Direct current." -Wiki

He was born in German Empire territory.

Ghandi was born in British-Empire territory, I don't think many people would call him "British", though.

Just check the city of Ulm. Ulm is Germany still and isn't part of Austria. Unless you to give credit to the Kingdom of Württemberg.

Pointing out how a man who lived 150 years ago was a racist, and using it as an argument against him possibly being awesome is pretty much the same as shouting "HELP, I SUCK AT HISTORY". =P

I guess I'm going to be boring and nominate Carl Gustav Mannerheim as the awesomest Finn.

Some slightly more interesting nominations:

Arndt Pekurinen, the first Finnish conscientious objector who died for his beliefs.

Mikael Agricola, who developed the written Finnish language.

Martti Ahtisaari, a Nobel-prize winning mediator and diplomat.

And the mandatory mention: Urho Kalevi Kekkonen.
