I'm thinking about getting a Wii, but my tv is a 720p lcd model.  I've read some people's comments where they said Wii's don't look as good on hd tvs.

I really depends on the TV, so you should at least tell us what kind of TV you have so you can get some specific feedback.

I have a six year old HD CRT and Wii games look much better than on my brother's 1080p LCD but about the same as on my friend's Bravia.

I have a 26" 720 lcd RCA bought at Wal~Mart for my 360 in 2006.

Get the wires to display 480p

Everytime I play Galaxy I cant help but say "damn I wish this was in HD"

However, I have yet to try those green red blue cables.

^^ I would have assumed that was a given but there are people out there who have stated before that they think Wii games just look worse running 480p on LCDs (particularly larger sets) than they do running 480i on SDTVs

get the component cables and u should be ok

Running Wii games on my HDTV with component cables makes such a HUGE difference compared to when using the standard A/V cables on the HDTV.

More color and picture is sharper.

On my HDTV with the standard A/V cables it just looks bad in my opinion, especially Metroid Prime 3.

A 3 year old low end LCD? Does anything look good on that TV?

It depends, when i played mario kart wii on my dads new 42" sanyo 1080p LCD HDTV (just once cause he placed it in the living room) it looked good to me. sherbert land looked stunning even at 480p imo (cause of the gloss of the ice)

I really dont know the difference between 480p on a big or small hdtv but i know this...theres no flickering, wavey llines or *bleeding*.
