By the way, T2 CFO was asked the split between 360/PS3 GTA4 and her answer was 50/50.
Food for thought.

| Arius Dion said: Wow. That is very interesting indeed Noname. Publishing revenue for consoles is highest on Wii? How? No GTA, no Bioshock, that is very interesting indeed. I also saw somewhere that all of a sudden Take-Two wants to call themselves the best publisher to bring Mature titles to the Wii..We'll see how that pans out. |
They brought us Carnival Games to the Wii, you have to be very Mature to play that.
If the DLC doesn't manage them a profit then the company needs a BAILOUT :P
It's just that simple.

Sounds like? This is the company where the CEO was ousted three years ago for lying to investors and embezzeling funds. I wish I were making that up...
Take-Two is the poster child third-party of this generation. They sell tons of software and produce hit games, but they have no clue how to control costs, and always end up losing money. I can't possibly see them surviving as an indepedent publisher. Their GTA cash cow has come and gone, and things are only going to get worse in 2009.
End of 2008 totals: Wii 42m, 360 24m, PS3 18.5m (made Jan. 4, 2008)
| Arius Dion said: Will you be doing this for other third party companies as well Noname? |
As I find them, and if others don't beat me to it, then yes. Someone often catches and posts these things: I just happened to be the first this time.

got a link i can look at?
This just pisses me off. They have one of the top selling games this generation - 13m!!, a monopoly on baseball games, an evergreen Wii title (crappy though it may be), and they still can't make money? WTF??
Obviously they need to start doing something fundimentally different. Maybe GTA:CW is an attempt to do that. If it sells like other GTA it'll definately help but damn. Take Two IS the poster child for what ails this industry.

ok first thing i noticed right away was the word approximately. id say 45/55 would fit that description if it were closer to 40/60 than that id think she would have said 40/60. also it seems like 6.5million in others and 6.5million in us... maybe like 500k less in others for japan.
i looked at the numbers and they seem in line with ours(assuming it is a 45/55 split) maybe a little undertracked for the ps3 but not by much.
