Forums - Gaming - Infamous vs Prototype: Which one will be a better game? Game info included

Prototype seems to be more brutish in natural and not much on the thinking side (like a Hulk game).

Infamous seems to be a true superhero game with ALL of the pitfalls of becoming a superhero.  Everything you do has consequences and the people in the city react accordingly (good or bad).

Thats why the game is called InFamous. You have the choice to become as the title, or have the people love you. Prototype has a character who consumes peoples bodies and shapeshifts. How the hell can you turn a person like that into a good guy? I dunno...you tell me. I guess you hate characters like Spawn or Wolverine who aren't exactly the typical good guy. This guy is a blatant rogue who is searching for answers for his identity.

prototype might suffer from technical issues due to the publisher's lack of attention to polish and being too ambiguous.

did i hear right that prototype is not really open world?

anyways they both are good games but we ll know after reviews which one has delivered on the promise .

Both games are open world.

Prototype looks so generic. The art direction is bland and the graphics are subpar.
Also, the gameplay seems to be faster than what I'd be confortable with.

inFAMOUS for me, thank you.

The art direction is generic?...lol. Wait...you mean to logically tell me that the Prototype protagonist is more generic than Cole from InFamous?

inFamous looks to be more interesting to me. I dont know why but I think the guy in prototype seems WAY to overpowered for my tastes. Besides Sucker Punch>Radical

He's overpowered because he's a military science project. He goes back after the military to get answers. Do you actually believe that prototypes bosses are going to be revealed? No one has heard a word about the bosses in Prototype as opposed to InFamous and they already judge. The bosses could be extremely hard or at least on part with your capabilities for all you know. Sony fans....everything goes over their head because their so one track minded.

Given neither game is released this is impossible to answer right now. Although I see snippet videos, screenshots, etc. aren't stopping people.

Well, just remember that the trailer for the first Star Wars prequel is judged one of the best ever, and convinced a whole bucket load of people the film was going to deliver in spades - and look how that turned out!

You simply can't judge a game from the information currently available for these two at this moment.

You can argue which one has been better marketed so far, though, and has gained the best recognition at this point - so why not do that instead?

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

infamous for me.
but for sure i will try the demos.

PLAYSTATION®3

I will say that both games will be low 80% metacritic games. No, inFamous is not going to be hyped like Killzone 2 or Gears of War 2. It is a platform exclusive game so it will be given the benefit of the doubt from a lot of PS3 fans.

I think the screen tearing in Prototype would annoy the hell out of me. Hopefully, that is pre-alpha or just the 360 version because it is pretty bad.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

I think overall inFamous will be the better game.

Prototype looks like the kind of game that works best as a spectacle, but the main character is too overpowered for my tastes, and the pace also seems way too fast to be all that enjoyable.
I doesn't feel that much like a superhero game, but more like a "We want you to trash New York and have fun with it"-game. I simply don't know if it will be a good game for me at this point. That, and I am not really into sandbox games.

inFamous feels more like a real superhero game, although I am still on the fence with it. Again, I'm not really into sandbox games, but I loved the exploration in Assassin's Creed, and this seems to be somewhat in the same vain, so i'm hoping it will be good, but like with Prototype, I don't really know.

All in all, I'm leaning towards inFamous.

Story - InFamous
Gameplay - Prototype
Graphics - InFamous
Value - Tie
Sales - Prototype

As for me?? InFamous.

Not only does it just look like it's more bang for your back to me, but so far this gen SONY's first and second party has been doing some really good work. I expect this trend to continue with inFamous.

I'll get both both if I have the chance.

Dang Stage you going all out on this one o_0

OT: I'm hoping for massive bosses. Many people here seem to forget that the military and the BlackWatch aren't the only enemies in the game, you'll be fighting the mutated inhabitants and aliens that are rampaging through the city as you watch it turn into chaos around you.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
