Forums - Nintendo - There should be more reviews out for MadWorld...

The lack of reviews for MadWorld is worrying me... I've only seen one review (the Nintendo Power 9/10 one), but considering the game is out in the US in 3 days, and that's the only review I've seen, I'm growing worried. Anyone have any ideas why there might not be any more reviews available?

Often companies will place review embargoes on their titles, asking that no review be posted before a certain date. For MLB 09 The Show the review embargo was set until the day before the game's release, perhaps Madworld's developers decided to do the same.

I don't think SEGA has ever been a company to shy away from bad reviews (they should be rather immuned to it by now), so its probably a rather innocent reason.

Or Nintendo Power paid for an exclusive, perhaps. The flow of money in these things is obviously hard to track.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I've seen 2. You can find it here in this forum.

It could be anything. I'm not worried about it though, everyone with a review build has been saying it's awesome. Even on 1up's podcast they featured madworld in the "what we've been playing" section and the guy talking about it was overwhelmingly positive. IGN has said it's a game of the year contender. This is going to be getting 8s and 9s across the board.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

The only legitimate worry I have for the game is length. I heard someone state that it was 5-6 hours long, and that can really kill a game's score. Also the visual style might lead to areas looking too similar since there isn't a obvious color difference to fall back on.

@torillian

how long does it take u to beat msg4, excluding the movies?

no clue, but it also has an included multiplayer

edit: looking back at my review where I said that it took upwards of 30 hours to complete with the movies, I'll guess 15 at a minimum.

Madworld also has multiplayer.

And MGS4 is one of the exceptions for this gen... most games single player sides seem to be under 10 hours.

5-6 hours is not the average. Hadn't heard that it had a multiplayer though so if they really do well with that they might be able to get a 9's worthy value anyway.
