Microsoft knows they are in trouble. They don't have the talent that Sony or Nintendo have in their little finger and because of that they have to buy in talent from third parties without actually making anything good for gamers themselves. They are the parasites of gaming and the market is beginning to understand. Their time is up and its just a matter of time before they run out of money to give away and they have to face the fact that they do not belong in the gaming business.

Like clockwork we know that their sales are just going to crash in the 4th year, and the other consoles will sail further and further ahead of them. They have nothing left, they are fast running out of lies to spread and consumers to be duped. If they were a little more humble, I would feel sorry for them. They just keep their arrogance flying like a flag above their heads, proclaiming their evil intentions and all in all its simply pathetic.

Put a gun to my head, threaten me with death or the most horrific torture to say something good Microsoft has done for the games industry, and all I can come up with is this... They support a strong and healthy repair industry so people who have their consoles break within warranty can get them repaired and sent back faster. Too bad not many PS3/Wii owners will even benefit from Microsofts good side.

I'll be glad when they and their deceptive practices leave this industry for good. Halo Wars is not a shooter.

For the cheapest console on the market they aren't doing too well, so those doomed threads may yet have to break out again when either the Wii or PS3 receive a pricecut.

The op's satire aside, yeah MS is in a bit of trouble in that in two console generations in a row, they have only been able to produce a couple of games that have ever really been worth their hype and produced significant sales. IF the majority of Japanese developers don't all go to the Wii and significant games like Kingdom Hearts 3 come to the PS3 while other titles like FF Versus XIII remain exclusive to the PS3, then there is little doubt left about the 360 finishing an embarrasing third this gen.

There won't be anything "embarrassing" about the 360's third place finish. The PS3 has almost no chance of having a dramatic lead -- there will be a relatively small difference between second and third place. Not only that, but reasonable people can disagree on which of the two consoles is going to be in which spot.

go check some of my earlier posts if you want to. i've written at length here about some things that could shift the way the consoles are. And the 360 does have a problem in that over the last year several of its titles that were supposed to be so promising have turned out to have received lukewarm critical receptions that have stifled their sales. All of the jrpgs, Ninja Gaiden II, Halo Wars though it is selling, Too Human, Fable 2's legs. 360 exclusives have failed to meet expectations far more often than PS3 ones as of late.

Sony has sold more PS3's in the same amount of time that the 360 has been out on the shelves.  I'm not going to say that the 360 is doomed because it isn't.  I just think alot of people forget about that 1 year difference.

Yeah Damn them to hell

This constant barage of high quality games coupled with an incredible online service and evolving UI is not going to fool people for much longer.

Pretty soon they will realise that the best way out of the recession is to spend twice as much on a struggling console with a hardware config that even John Carmack concedes is "a curious design choice"

The mass market has been waiting for a ps3 price cut. Once they realize that Sony cannot afford one, they will just buy a ps3 anyway and the xbox will be finnished!
