Better than the American one? Then why haven't we ever been invaded before? Surely it would be quite easy...

Have you been enslaved?

@ bimmy: a rather short existence, coupled with two oceans and being able to develop while the rest of the world is at war might have something to do with that :p

Well, the Chimera have never been to Central or South America yet, that's something about their toughness.

OR MAYBE THE CHIMERA TOTALLY LEVELED BELGIUM, SO THERE'S NOTHING TO FIGHT OVER.

Well, then they surely must've passed over the netherlands even faster, that country is about as flat as you can find'em :p

@ starcraftmaniac: touché :p (although the word chimera comes from Greek, not Latin. Nice Dutch try though :p )

 Chimera originates from Greek, but the Romans stole everything Greek.

My Latin dictionary tells me this:

Chimaera, ae f

So starcraftmaniac was right the plural is Chimerae (or Chimaerae).

Yes, modern spelling is mediated from Latin (also because in Europe after Western Roman Empire fall Greek went almost lost for centuries and was rediscovered starting XV century during Humanism and Renaissance with a crucial impulse from the flight to West of Byzantine scholars escaping from the turkish invasion. One of the most eminent western scholars to learn Greek and become an authority on it in that period was Erasmus from Rotterdam), in Greek it's Chimaira, pl. Chimairai.

I have two theories:

1) The Netherlands nuked Belgium before the Chimerae (plural for Chimera in Latin) came there.

2) The Chimerae only want to kill 'humans'. Thus, Belgium wasn't on the list.

Ok, herebye my apologies for the above said. It's just a century-old prank-history between The Belgians and The Dutch. I couldn't resist it, it's in my blood .

Don't worry Baudelaire was even harsher than the Dutch

@bimmylee:

Let's do a fast summary: America, after its first original discovery and colonization was discovered again by Vikings, then by an Italian, then invaded by the Spanish, Portuguese, French, English, Dutch... Am I forgetting anybody?

You may have forgotten the Russians, though I'm not sure. They took Sarah Palin's Alaska

@Alby_da_Wolf

Hmm, that's fair I suppose. Let me rephrase my previous statement. Ahem...

The Americans have never suffered a defeat on American soil.

There, how's that?

No it still doesn't work, unless you consider Native Americans not American... But this couldn't be, because Chuck Norris, that's half native, would have immediately known and roundkicked you to the Moon
It works if you limit the scope: only Americans managed to invade each other after... Well, I don't know which was the last European important defeat, maybe in Mexico, some former colonies remain, but they haven't any hope to expand and invade any American State.
