The PS3 has no system-selling software until March, at which point MGS4 itself is meant to move the console. Do you truly believe that it will sell enough to make the game significantly profitable? "Not all devs can be bought," this implies that somehow Sony have the moral highground in the console business. Between claiming that "next-gen starts when we say it does," saying they dont buy exclusivity and then doing it anyway, and trojan-horsing blu-ray, i'd say that MS and Sony are as bad as eachother. Also, you seem to mistakenly believe that the majority of gamers dont like EA. How many of the 160 million gamers from last gen do you think read forums and dislike EA. To this day they are the biggest third party on the planet, and they are only getting bigger. |
Asian dev's have proven to be harder to coerce into working solely for MS, or even giving them sigificant multiplats (FF among others). Sony do business in other ways than MS. I'm sure they have their fair share of skeletons in the closet, but EVERYONE knows that MS' prime tactic is to buy what they cannot beat with their products. As for EA; yes, they are getting bigger, and that's a good thing?! I think most hardcore gamers, such as those who frequent sites like this, understand that companies like EA do more harm than good and if anything they lower the overall quality of todays games! They work with similar tactics as MS, buy those you cannot force out of the way with a better product. There's a heap of good gaming dev's that EA bought, then they disbanded them after taking the best programmers (which then quit shortly after anyways). Westwood is one of these companies.
And why do you mind BluRay? I think it's great with the possibilites of high storage capacity, and many programmers seem to agree with me! (There are those who don't as well, but they're mostly the ones NOT programming for PS3...). MS said all along that we don't need the HD formats on consoles, but then they released the HDDVD add-on for 360. Why? "Here, an add-on you will never need..." And when they claim that their console is the PS3's equal in all things HD, it'd be natural that they used a format that IS HD, right? DVD is not HD, upscaled HD is just that; upscaled HD.
PS: 160 million gamers? Where do you get that number from? Do you know how many people play games on PC's? And those who do play on PC's, are extra balefull towards EA, since they tend to destroy companies that make good PC games.
