Halo wars holding well thank god....

| BKK2 said: Battle Fantasia is pretty niche, should have been out before SFIV but kept getting delayed. I may import it from the UK, PAL version is the only English language PS3 version available. Not even making the PS3 chart means probably less than 1k sales, even extrapolating across the whole of PAL region it's probably only going to end up doing a few thousand at most. It certainly won't get a reprint, so might be quite rare in the future. £22.50 new on Ebay sounds like a bargain, and may even be an investment :) |
Battle Fantasia is available in France since the week 7. The game is only available at Micromania (not all micromania), with a little stock, and the ps3 version is more easy to find than the 360 version. It's clear that, if the game is not in store, he can't be in the charts. I think it must be a story like that too in UK.

Amazon UK aren't even selling it (although Play have it in stock), if a major online retailer with no concerns about shelf space doesn't bother to stock it then I doubt many brick and mortar stores would bother to either. It sounds like this game probably had a very small shipment, and only shipped to select retailers. They probably mainly localised it for the US X360 release (and rumoured PSN release), and just released a token amount in PAL as an afterthought.
lol, after writing that I just checked Battle Fantasia's publisher's Wikipedia page:
The company has been criticized for their unclear publishing methods; the PAL-versions of Ar Tonelico and Raw Danger for example are officially released, but seem to have seen such a limited release only in France and Italy that many people are unsure of their very existence. Wild Arms 5 on the other hand has been announced at first for 30 November 2007, then been delayed until 22 February 2008, only to be released on 11 April 2008 in such limited quantities as the before mentioned games. In addition, Wild Arms 5 was never released in Australia (another PAL territory). Its predecessor Wild Arms 4 was also published by 505 Games, but suffered from a bug that would make the game crash if played in 50 Hz-mode.
Sounds exactly like the situation with Battle Fantasia. I'm going to pick it up whilst I can, sure to be a collector's item some day, especially with North America never receiving a Blu-ray release.
This week, every platform has exactly one new release breaking into their respective charts, even the PSP (!).
"Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X." is denied the first place in both the PS3 and 360 chart by the 2 leaders from the previous week : "Killzone 2" and "Halo Wars", respectively.

PC version of "Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X." didn't even make the PC top 20 then.
HAWX PC is not out yet, it will be there in a few weeks
