PS2 best line up ever ??? lol ok already starting bad here.... it doesn't matter if it has 2 million AAA game if it just represents 1% of the total line up it is still crap..... PS2 had a lot of AAA game true.... but even more utter crappy game than any other leading consoles of all time.... so no it's not being subjective saying that PS2 never had the best global line up ever.... hell probably dreamcast ratios are better...

By the way, I never said anything about Xbox 360 VS PS3. We all know that both libraries are similar. That's why I always said you need to have a lot of money to spend on games to own both consoles.

Well let's see.  For PS2 there are 1-2 wothy of purchase and 1-2 rentals in the list at best.

For 360 there are 10 actual purchases.  Of course this primarly reflects distribution of genres as much as anything.  No music, platformer, racing, button masher, or gangster simulator is worth my time.

If console A has 70 excellent games and 300 worth playing, 1000 worth a look and 2000 which are crappy,

And Console B has 20 excellent games, 100 worth playing, 500 worth a look and 1000 which are crappy,

Which console will provide you with more games which are:

1) Excellent? A

2) Worth Playing? A

3) Worth a Look? A

So the games which are crappy do not matter, because you can simply ignore their existence. Do you, at any point, while playing Shadow of The Colossus, think "my enjoyment of this is ruined because of Little Britain: The Videogame"?

Maybe if you like console shooters, but other than that: No

360 has a great library, but pretty uniform as well. It's an Unreal Engine, Shooter/WRPG heaven.

But:
Platformer?
JRPG?
SRPG?
Horror?
Puzzle?
Lightgun?
Party?

Sure, 360 has those, but not multiple outstanding ones. PS2 probably has the best library among all genres. I still prefer SNES/PS1 for RPGs though.

pretty much this. not to mention the ps2 had a ton of great actual exclusives, while the x360 shares some of its great games with the ps3 and even more with the pc.
