I've got a sneaking suspicion that you know absolutely nothing about computer hardware. 

In addition to squirrels very well put arguments, why would someone with a gaming PC who only plays PC games shell out another $700+ to go PS3? I can't imagine where they would find the value in that (mainly due to squirrels points).

Console processors are much weaker than PC processors. Consoles are nothing more than an alternative to the expensive PC. Nothing more. You can make all the arguments you like, but the PC got better technology than the PS3 about a month after it was released. That shouldn't surprise you. It was the same with every other console generation.

I doubt NCsofts get rich quick plan will work, but that's just me.

Ahhh, give the kid a break. He only knows what Sony told him, that 10 years from now $5,000 computers will still not have matched the raw power of the PS3.

A lot of PC gamers have switched, imo, just because of the costs of constantly upgrading to the cutting edge is ever higher and let's face it, 10 years ago, a bump in power sped everything up, now most computers, even laptops, already have 64 dual cores.  Aside from games what uses that kind of power now? Vertually nothing.  But gamers still spend hundreds to thousands more just to play the lastest games, or...  buy a 360 or PS3. Let's face it, even the lowest end computer will run all your utilities, web browsing, etc.  So you can get both a reg laptop and PS3 for less than a gaming rig (which needs constant upgrading to play the lastest games to the fullest).

360 makes more sense to me as it has more PC style games, but a lot of my PC gamer friends hate Microsoft with a passion and will (eventually) buy a PS3 instead (to go with their Wiis).

There was talk of Sony coming out with Linux and a keyboard for the PS3, and that'd get some of that crowd to buy in as well.

There are a few linux installations you can have on your PS3. But, from what I've heard, it is rather slow. 

I'm a PC gamer, i've spent thousands on my PC over the past years, enough to buy both a PS3 and Xbox360 a few times over.

Why am I supposedly going to go to the PS3?

I've purchased the Wii over the 360 and PS3 and i'm a PC fanboy - almost everything on 360 is coming to PC, the only thing that interests me that hasn't is Halo 3.

I don't think PC gamers will move to the PS3 honestly, if anything they will gravitate more to the Wii.
