You have yet to explain why being on the PS1 originally has anything to do with where it would go now. Especially since it was also released on the PC. |
I know it's on the PC.
Read my post on page one, i'm talking about consoles.

It will be multi but the 360 version will come out 1year before the ps3's
There's a reason why Sony lost exclusive to FFXIII and Square is making a bunch of mediocre JRPG for Xbox360...lol ;]

This! This is you admitting to having no particular reason to think it would be on the PS3 exclusively!

Final Fantasy 13 isn't out yet. Final Fantasy 7, is.. And what a suprise, it was on PlayStation.. The chances of it being an exclusive, since it was on the PS1, is very high.

But something happened to the ps brand, it went from a decisive first to dead last.
Why would square give a big time hd game to a last place console only?
We have seen square and all their love for the 360 , they gave the 360 their biggest game this gen in FF13 so why would FF7 be any different?
N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!
I would throw a big LOL if it comes to a Nintendo console.
FFVII remake this gen seems unlikely.
But I'm seeing it for the next gen. And due to Wii's success, that momentum will probably continue with wii 2, and FF7 will be released for it...
Or the alternative: FF7 remake for iMachines...

Crystal Tools works with all three systems, actually. ot meeting the "target render" on the Wii is completely immaterial to the discussion at hand. |
The same reason you do not hear about TLR, IU, Final fantasy 13, and versus coming to the wii is the reason it is "in" the discussion. Last I checked the final fantasy 13 engine is called the white engine and it is for next gen console development. So again not to get off track I was saying it was not possible other than some obvious spin-off or card battle game. Is it possible they would down port this game to the wii....yeah it is possible. But is it likely.....no they would rather spend the extra scratch on Dragon quest development than give a mediocre port to the fantastic wii demographic. Really aren't most of us "tired" of dumbed down games, most wii owners want games built from the ground up is all I was trying to say. (retracts flame shield)

I never realized that EIDOS bought the rights to 7. With all the fan clattering for a remake, that could be the big reason SE made the play for EIDOS.

"The Crystal Tools engine, originally named the White Engine, is a game engine built by Square Enix to be used on all seventh generation game consoles; the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and with Microsoft Windows PCs.[1]"
Taken from Wikipedia.
You would have ap oint about a game not being dumbed down, except that this is an RPG wherein the game mechanics in no way rely on technology. It would be just as good, it just wouldn't look as pretty.
